I could have stayed with my parents until I was married but by 18 I felt like I had a decent enough handle on life to do it on my own and I did. I was a grown ass man. Nah, pretty much every foreign community (Africans, Haitians, Asians etc) + a lot of well to do cac families let their kids stay with them damn near till 30 or till their married as long as they contribute to the house and go to school/or have a career. U cant expect an 18 y o to afford a 1200$ 1 bed room apt on an entry level job position.

Throwing someone on their ass at 18 & saying “your grown” disenfranchises the kid. U cant build generational wealth.

Breh, I can't believe you just made that excuse. I can make $2k a month sitting on my ass in my house on a computer with nothing but the knowledge of how to use the internet. I've done it. And that's without me being involved with social media or any of that. So imagine what a young nikka can do that's on social media all day every day. That's more than enough for a young single adult living with their parents to stack up in just a year to start something.

I turned 18 in 04. The world hasn't changed that much and if anything it's now 10 times easier to make something out of yourself. We have libraries at our fingertips plus some. We can learn almost anything from anywhere and you're telling me the opportunities aren't there anymore? All we know how to do is get on social media when bettering yourself is literally as simple as Googling your thoughts
