How did Keyshia Cole 'Love' become the Gen Z anthem?

Its a great song and it was a hit in its time, but I feel like it was really a bit forgotten compared to others of that era.

Then over the past few years you see on social media gangs of lil ass kids singing their hearts out to it . Like, outside looking in as a non gen-z, it seems like this is their top heartbreak song.

Did someone make it viral at some point? Also, thats a crazy wrinkle of this generation how songs from previous eras can take on a whole new life.
