On the other hand, no one really cared about them after leaving the club. They were good for hits but they never established themselves as individuals. Most people reading this thread probably don't remember their names, or thought their names were Ying and Yang
I'm sure they sold more records and had higher charging singles than the Lox, but they never mattered like the Lox did. And any hip hop fan of a certain age knows Kiss, Styles and Sheek.

I don't disagree with any of this, but OP is pretty much trying to negate huge success YYT had while boosting up Migos. Plus, the discussion is Migos & YYT, not Takeoff vs Quavo vs Offset vs D-Roc vs Kaine

Peak Lox years were 2000 and 2001. When We Are the Streets dropped and then the lead up to Kiss' solo when everybody thought he had next and would drop a classic.
Ying Yang just never mattered in that way.
They were just club music.

Ying Yang's run was longer than Migos current run at the moment...they were hot for like 6 years...of course, they produced nowhere the quality and didn't have the impact/influence on the game as Migos.
