At one time these guys were cranking out top 10 or 20 Billboard albums on the weekly. I know it was a different time and everyone sold albums back then but not to the extent that No Limit did. The obscure artists like Big Ed (RIP) Mr. Serv On and others were cranking out gold and platinum albums. They were outselling labels like Bad Boy and Def Jam back or damn close back then. Who the hell way buying these album cuz i dont have any of my old No Limit music and don't no anyone else who does. And on another note out of the artists why did their most talented (Mac) one end up in jail for murder. I think Mac would have blown up eventually with the way the South ended up taking over.

IMO, they had some very underrated talent (Mac, Fiend, Mia X, Slim, Mystikal) along with probably the most underrated producers of all time. BBTP consistently produced quality tracks, Im sure it was over 300 songs. P and C were the first real dope boy rappers and and dope boys in the south ate that up as well. I know there were other rappers making music about the dope game but No Limit personified the 90's dope boy in the south between 96-98.

When your set up like no limit, releasing all those albums in that time fashion will destroy your longevity....

The consumers never "connected"with no limit even though they sold records...

The smaller cash money was able to do that...

Yeah those ones u named were talented artists and would have shined regardless. But i wonder if them releasing all them albums stopped guys like Fiend from blowing like he should. When a different artist releases an album every week it's easy for the ones with talent to get lumped with the other ones.

What you mean?

This is a quote from Shopthatwrecks

how p came up...he cut out middle men n he looked up2 some of the biggest ceos in the country n in the south...n he was best friends with james prince..

he learned how to hustle in the bay...and in texas..

p used alot of texas based companies be4 goin to priority ...southwest wholesale who had a deal with warehouse music n other accounts...n he had pen n pixel..who could do covers for cheap..

both are companies that helped cut cost n made labels like sick wid it..rap-a-lot and suavehouse

p was doin the bar code hustle that cats like lil flip, yungstar pokey, lil troy n others down here mastered..

which was take ya album...put the same upc on ya compilations mixtapes etc...n when mom n pops n major retailers scan em...ya mixtape would count as a album sale...

if u got all of no limit albums all u gotta do is look at the back of em...u see garbage nikkas like prime suspects, the ghetto commission skull dugrey kane n abel..all got the same upc's as some of the compilations...if them nikkas can go gold n platinum..why they cant do it now...n why gone off the face of the earth...

p was droppin shyt every 2 weeks..and all of it was goin gold or platinum...p wasnt that rich to drop half a mill every 2 weeks...he had even got that deal with priority yet..only reason p made the switch from southwest to priority because he got a tip they was goin bankrupt...

Yeah, me and my friends all the time used to say if Mac was on another label he would have blown. Fiend too. P just treated everybody like factory workers.

Fiend actually has written for alot of artists so his work was well known outside of No Limit. As far the rest of the crew, P over-saturated the market with his brand, but it was so dominant and entertaining that he sold more than any other mogul...

dude is plain and simple, the best hustler in the game...period.

I was listening through the No Limit Greatest Hits on iTunes, most of it was :trash:

anyone who says they weren't putting out 90% trash is riding the nostalgia wave

best No Limit albums were Top Dogg and Tha Last Meal, because Snoop Dogg was allowed to use his own producers and do what the fukk he wanted
