I was listening to a whole bunch of East Coast rappers from the late 1990s/early 2000s and something just struck me as to how did New York rappers react to the September 11 attacks. Did Nas, Jay-Z, DMX etc. release statements or anything? I was born in 1998, so I was too young to remember the general feeling and reaction. Any oldheads care to say?

Black people knew immediately it was an inside job done by the government.

Ain't no one fall for that shyt.

:damn:

“I worship the prophet/The great Mohammed Omar Atta/For his courage behind the wheel of the plane/Reminds me when I was dealin’ the ‘caine.”

They reacted by worshipping the alleged hijackers..

And? What were they supposed to do? Identify with their oppressors?

9/11 was a crakkka pity party. Black people didn't give a fukk. We been under terrorist attacks since we came to this country by cacs. We been used to it.
