I didn't mind immortal technique response when i heard that track and actually saw and read interviews of him talking about losing friends in it

But i was hearing other rappers saying " we was never allowed in there anyway "

Your average non-Coli Black person doesn’t give a fukk about that type of stuff lol. That ain’t got nothing to do with us and u might cud get ya head knocked off if u stand infront the building too long.

KRS said it best “we cheered on 9/11”.

40 years before that, Malcolm said the chickens come home to roost when he president was killed

To ACTUAL Black people (not Coli patriots) that shyt is like whatever.. Long as they ain’t kill no nikkas idgaf. Cuz for damn sure wasn’t nobody in the twin towers crying for Rodney King

I was listening to a whole bunch of East Coast rappers from the late 1990s/early 2000s and something just struck me as to how did New York rappers react to the September 11 attacks. Did Nas, Jay-Z, DMX etc. release statements or anything? I was born in 1998, so I was too young to remember the general feeling and reaction. Any oldheads care to say?

I remember Nore and Ja Rule was hanging out that day and came home super late to their wives, especially Ja Rule who was hanging out with Nore the night before. Ja Rule knocked on his door and apoligized to his wife and said that he was sorry and then proceded to tell her that some planes crashed in the tower. Nore was unaware of this and thought Ja Rule was an incredible player and liar to trick his wife with such story. Ja Rule then made a song his studio that day for what happened.

Jay donated to 9/11 relief groups and did a benefit concert…

The influence of 9/11 is now seen in modern day NY drill rappers who name themselves shyt like Shawny Binladen and DD Osama :heh:
