Jay donated to 9/11 relief groups and did a benefit concert…

The influence of 9/11 is now seen in modern day NY drill rappers who name themselves shyt like Shawny Binladen and DD Osama :heh:

When the Twin Towers dropped, he was the first in line. Donating proceeds off every ticket sold.
When he was out on the road, that's how you judge Hov, no?

:damn:

“I worship the prophet/The great Mohammed Omar Atta/For his courage behind the wheel of the plane/Reminds me when I was dealin’ the ‘caine.”

They reacted by worshipping the alleged hijackers..
I remember that, and Dipset were some of my favorites, but do y'all think that karma got Julez for that?

Your average non-Coli Black person doesn’t give a fukk about that type of stuff lol. That ain’t got nothing to do with us and u might cud get ya head knocked off if u stand infront the building too long.

KRS said it best “we cheered on 9/11”.

40 years before that, Malcolm said the chickens come home to roost when he president was killed

To ACTUAL Black people (not Coli patriots) that shyt is like whatever.. Long as they ain’t kill no nikkas idgaf. Cuz for damn sure wasn’t nobody in the twin towers crying for Rodney King
We did give a fukk. Plenty of black folks were killed that day.I was about 14 and home sick from school that day and woke up to my mama watching the news, everybody still thought it was a freak accident. When that second one hit everybody freaked out. Their were rumors planes were headed to nearby nuclear stations or to charlotte, which was near us because it is huge for American banking. That shyt had the whole of America shook to our core.

Man what's weird is that I was waiting on rappers to say something but it took a minute. Keep in mind this was before people would drop tracks immediately online and on tapes and there was just so much about 9/11 from the larger political and social aspect that I felt like rappers would wanna speak on but it took a minute

First responses I remember that year in the months after was Petey Pabolo doing that USA Remix of Raise Up (Dropped a month after 9/11) and that was just a patriot ass song.

Then Nas talked about it on Stillmatic on Rule and kind of on the My Country's intro and on Poison just lamenting on how it was just bad for everyone, war must not spread and that even America now has it coming to them
And then Ghostface talked about it on the Iron Flag album more outraged that someone did that in NY

And I believe that same year was when KRS did a lecture at a college saying the Native American applauded at that happening (That was hot hotep thing to say at the time: That America had it coming to them for all the injustices no disrespect)

Then the next year you had more talk. Obviously Juelz shouting out one of the bombers, Kweli rapped about the double standard America on terrorism on Quality album and J Live had a dope verse about how shyt was only gonna get fukked up

“Mr. Bush sit down I’m in charge of the war”
