How did Pippen fall off so hard after leaving Chicago?

The man had back problems since like '97-'98. Combine that with a decade of DEEP playoff runs, a long lockout season that probably impacted a lot of his skillset due to inactivity & old age and you'll realize Pip played relatively well, given the circumstances.

EDIT: Back problems since '88 like @RubioTheCruel said.

He had a herniated disk surgery way back in 88 when he was 22, it's a minor miracle his career arc ended up the way it did

Within the context of his situation he played quite well in Portland.
Fortunately I was watching every night when Pippen was in Portland, which is why I hate the he wasn't shyt comments. He was an older veteran on those Blazers teams with Blazers who far his junior and he was the glue guy that made it all work. It wasn't Sheed, who was far more talented at that point in time.

MJ basically won that final ring playing 1 Vs 5.

Rarely gets talked about.
You gonna ignore Pippen, Rodman, Harper, Kerr, and Kukoc but count the UTAH lineup as five? :dahell:

Who were the 5? :dead::dead::dead:

Jazz had 34yo Hornacek and 35yo Stockton as their #2 and #3 scorers, both of them were years older and even more washed than Pippen was.

And their other two starters were Adam Keefe and Greg Foster. :scust:

Malone was the ONLY Utah player who averaged 11ppg or more in that series. :pachaha:
