How did the 2008 recession effect you?

Gas prices were crazy.

I can remember when I was real low on funds, and needed gas to last the week until I got paid, I’d scrape up 5 or 6 bucks and pray that little bit of gas could get me from A&T’s campus to my grandma in Winston. She’d fill my tank up. I just had to get there.

Only thing that I really remember was the super high ass gas prices other than that I was doing well compared to many people at that time.

Damn breh, I’m trying to become a mortgage advisor (eventually financial advisor) and I was wondering how recession proof the job was.

But I did lose my job and lost my so called friends because when I needed a hand they act like I wasn’t there and it was the same fools I used to help out

After 2008 I had no such thing as friends and my parents was the only ones who helped me and really made me realize ITS ONLY U AND HOPEFULLY YOUR PARENTS OR THE PERSON U WITH IN LIFE

My fuel gauge didn’t work either lol. I was that guy that said, “I know my car”

I had to take that walk on I-40 to the nearest exit with a gas station once or twice

I was def shook back then though, baby on the way, starting a new job..

I was 16 and got let go from the first job I ever had. Then summer 09 I got a job working for a law firm in my town thanks to a program that used money from Obama's stimulus package.

I was remodeling houses with my dad. We worked for people with old money so we didn’t hurt at all. My mom works for the state so she didn’t get affected. It was work and party for me. I had just turned 21 too

I went to Miami for vacation for the first time that year too
