Did Bowl season matter last year when the SEC got their shyt kicked in?:sas1:

They also got OWNED by the ACC during rivalry week as well:sas2:

I wouldn't get too excited about the best ACC teams beating the worst SEC teams. Hell the worst SEC team South Carolina nearly beat the #1 ACC team and did beat #2 earlier in the season.

I look at bowl games in a macro way, instead of a micro view. Results from any one single year don't matter. Its about what happens over 5-10 years. And if you look back over the last 10 years, the SEC has had the best bowl record every single year outside of 2005 and 2014.

If the SEC continues to struggle in bowl games for another 2-3 years, then you might have a point that times have changed. Till then, all last year was was an outlier.

FSU and Miami falling off at the same time moved the SEC to the forefront.. Before the SEC got hot FSU and Miami pretty much ran the south the only SEC schools that were moving units were Florida,Tennessee and Alabama until they fell off in mid 90s. Look back at the SEC in the 90s and you'll see a lot of shytty football. SEC didn't start getting better until Saban got LSU up and running and Tuberville did good work at Auburn same with Richt going to UGA all around the same timeframe. SEC before that was a 3 team conference majority of the time.

True. Miami and FSU dominates the 90s because all those great Florida athletes stayed in-state.

Now those guys are playing in the sec. Look no further than Alabama taking both Amari Cooper, Derrick Henry, and Calvin Ridley from Florida.

Its all about location. And most of the great athletes are in the sec footprint so there is a natural advantage. Especially with Miami down.

So you telling me Bama is the only sec team that competes every year for national titles? :sas2:

In the last 5-6 years they have had an unprecedented level of success. I'm sure even their fans don't care about the sugar bowl if the natty isn't on the line.

Schools like ole miss however have no excuse. They haven't been to a sugar bowl in 40 years.

:duck:

USC was passed over in 07, & 08
Oregon in 2012 was MUCH better than Notre Dame and would have not have been folded up like that

Oregon was supposed to be playing Alabama but ND was undefeated. 2007 & 2008 definitely warranted a playoff. Also in 2007, USC was a 2-loss team as well...

07 was bullshyt no matter how it played out someone would've gotten screwed that whole season was bullshyt.

USC really botched it up they had 2 of the WOAT losses in history losing to crappy UCLA and 3 win Stanford in 06/07

Oregon loss to Stanford was no worse than Bama loss to A&M just happened to late in season chip fukked them over that night

Oh no I agree, it wasn't like Okie State losing to ISU. The thing is that, like you said, they lost later, Oregon lost the week after we lost to A&M and Oregon was #2

Or it could be the 7 straight national titles, having the most players drafted into the NFL for 10 straight years running, and dominating national signing day every year during recruiting.

SEC dominance is a result of location. Most of the great athletes in college football are black. Most black folks live in the south. Hence it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why the SEC has so much success.

Its the same reason Clemson and Florida State dominate the ACC. You don't see Boston College winning the ACC cause ain't no black folks that far north. Even the most successful ACC program are in the deep south in states with large black populations.
Whoa there! Tennessee and Kentucky are not fertile. Go Noles and fukk the rest.
