Because Ohio State shyt the bed 2 years in a row

Because Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, and Notre Dame....that's why.

Because Tebow, Harvin, Ingram, Newton, Honey Badger, Cooper, Henry, ...

Because the Big Ten & Pac 10 fell off during that time...

2006 - Florida
2007 - LSU
2008 - Florida
2009 - Alabama
2010 - Auburn
2011 - Alabama
2012 - Alabama

But to be fair, the rest of the country has pretty much caught up to the level of play in the SEC.

All this plus look at the top schools for recruiting every year. Wherever the nations top talent goes should let you know what the best conference is. MSU, Michigan, Penn State, FSU, and U of M, falling off really opened the flood gates for the SEC knob slobbers. But that's really all our faults. Speaking for PSU, there is no reason why after 2005 we should've ever struggled to retain a top 10 recruitment ranking. When you struggle to keep in state talent or regionally talent within your conference, you deserve to lose.

Whoa there! Tennessee and Kentucky are not fertile. Go Noles and fukk the rest.

No shyt. And it's why those teams have sucked the last 10-15 years. You can also add Arkansas and Missouri to the not so fertile sec recruiting grounds.

However, schools like Tennessee used to have prominence and can get back to that prominence by recruiting from nearby states. The University of Tennessee in Knoxville is only a three hour drive from Atlanta, arguably the most fertile recruiting ground in the country outside of Miami. And Charlotte another large metropolitan area that produced sec caliber athletes.

Teams like Tennessee might not have fertile recruiting ground in their home state. But they are close enough to fertile states like Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina to supplement the weakness of in-state talent.

Schools in big 10 country can't do that. Tennessee has done well in recruiting lately because they are close enough to those fertile recruiting grounds that they can get kids to visit them in a short car drive for unofficial visits. However, if a northern school wants the same kid they can't get those unofficial visits because the kids family can't afford the plane ride or won't drive 12 hours to see a school.

Nah.... Not sure if Auburn would've pulled out a win.... But Auburn was way too balanced on both sides of the ball to catch an L of that proportion......

Oklahoma was fragile as fukk it was a good game until Bradley went braindead trying to field that punt inside the 5. Oklahoma started getting them KSU/LSU flashbacks from previous year and punked out. It was similar to how Texas would fold up whenever they made mistakes vs OU during that timeframe.

Y'all think Auburn would've gotten worked by USC like Oklahoma did in '04? :jbhmm:
That USC-OU game was competitive up until the OU player went stupid at the end of the 1st quarter. After that fumble and USC scored, OU gave up. OU did score first if people forgot about that. I still think USC would have beaten Auburn. But not 55-19.

Yeah and Auburn had a pretty good defense that year, probably wouldve been more like 28-17 rather than 55-19

regardless of how the game would have turned out auburn deserved to be no.1 going into the bowls and out of those 3 teams oklahoma should have been left out. problem was the media fell in love with what they perceived to be the 2 most dynamic offensive teams. auburn clearly was the most dominant out of those 3 teams in the regular season.

i dont believe its as much everyone else catching up with the sec as it is the sec falling back to the pack. the coaching and talent isnt as good across the board as it was during 2003-2013 seasons. during that span there were usually around 3 or more top 10 caliber teams or at least 2 teams with 2 losses or less . you take away the best sec team during most of that run and the 2nd team was still capable of winning the national title. the last 2 years that hasnt been the case.

We loss to Oregon before dennis dixon got hurt

It wouldn't have been 55-19 but it would have been similar to the 03 game 23-0, but maybe 34-14:yeshrug:

What did 2002 have to do with 2004? Here's what you do... if Bama gets by MSU... bet your next 3 paychecks on OSU(if they beat Clemson) because they beat them 2 year prior to today, and see how that works out for you.....

Its like saying that since USC beat Stanford in 2014 that they would beat them in 2015

Its like saying that since Auburn beat Alabama in 2013 that they'd beat them in 2014..

All teams change from year to year... You sounding like a real fan right about now..... which I expect.... :ehh:
