How did this place become so Anti-Jay-Z?

When you're the GOAT in any field you're gonna get hate, simply because you're great. I mean look at how many haters Bron has, combine that with trolling and weird Nas stans who try to nitpick at every single Jay related discussion and there you go.

nas gets way more hate than jay :childplease: ...that's why I see the hate lebron gets akin to the hate nas gets

I don’t think it’s just here though. I think there is a growing sentiment across social media of people that don’t like Jay. Him being a major capitalist, making deals with the NFL and not supporting Kaepernick during the protest, cheating on Beyoncé, him and Beyoncé being mega rich and out of touch with the people, joint album with Beyoncé being mediocre and his solo musical output has been lacking too, just him being uncharismatic off the mic
You're right it's not just here, but just like here it is selective. The things that ppl drag Jay Z for would not be things ppl even bring up regarding other Hip Hop moguls or moguls in general.
Lately he is just seen as Beyoncé’s husband and as a business man. The thing with being Beyoncé’s man is that her fans love her for being pro-feminist and they see Jay as her rich ugly cheating husband who needs to bow down to queen B. They clown Jay more than Nas fans do.

And the business man shyt, people don’t like business men. They give Nas a pass because most people see him as an investor and Anthony Saleh as the business man.

If Jay was putting out dope music people would overlook most of this shyt, but he ain’t putting out dope music.
Not really. Hive turned a corner on this a few years ago. Today actual Hive(not casuals) are more likely to drag ppl questioning Jay and his legacy. They were just doing it yesterday when ppl were comparing him to Boosie.

I agree that ppl don't like businessmen but folks should be more consistent. Don't be dragging Jay for making moves in the space that others are doing as well.

jay did it to himself from like 08-16, that euro hov, "let me tell you all the ways i'm rich and why everything you're doing is for broke boys" era + mid projects (for jay standards) didn't help his legacy. everything became hella pretentious with dude down to that tone deaf rollout of tidal sporting the richest, most successful celebrities as entitled to more money.

his music from 96-04 and American Gangster still top 5 tho :win:

You mean to tell me you didn't like Jigga Bell's Econ 101 audiobook aka 4:44?

Anyone saying The Booth does not have genuine hate for Jay-Z
is also likely "blind" to the hardcore Nas and Lupe Fiasco stanning.

The two rapppers who damn near get unanimous love but everyone else
is called into question. :pachaha:
Pac? Biggie? Mos Def? Outkast? The fukkING Wu-Tang Clan? Damn near
anyone can get it in the booth but those two? :whoa:

We also don't talk about contemporary Hip-Hop enough.
The only place I know I can see and speak about contemporary Hip-Hop reliably and regularly
is on Reddit which has a bunch of fukking crackers to wade through.

Do you know what unanimous means? I can pull 5 Nas threads right now where the poster with the most posts is not a Nas fan. Yall really see just what you want to on here. The fact is everybody gets criticized, some more than others, and normally its the same suspects.

Nah.
Nas is one of the few rappers who consistently has THE MOST hardcore fanbase on here
outside of Lupe Fiasco.

Even when bro wasn't dropping back to back albums he would have threads
on the front page with dozens of pages.

Ghostface Killah has had similar wild DOPE output, doesn't get remotely the same amount of love.
Makes no sense to me.

They forget about the god MC.

You know how rare it is to be praised as ultra lyrical by even the backpackers/underground cats, but still make radio bangers and club songs, and to STILL be able to throw that lyricism in there on the sly and cake up?

People are prisoners of the moment where being dead nice is frowned upon and all you really need is a beat that go and either some a$$hole mumbling or yelling some nonsensical shyt.

Nas has one of the largest fanbases on here. Of course someone like Ghostface who has a smaller fanbase doesnt generate the same discussion, the numbers arent there to drive that. Its also besides the point, having a large fanbase /= no criticism. Some of the biggest Nas threads of late are driven by posters that arent Nas fans.

Who said that Nas never gets criticism ?
Cause I've never said that, in fact, I'm always bothered by the people who
seem bent on tearing down ANY Legend. Anyone who knows my post history
knows I think that shyt is LAME.

This is what I'm talking about though.
I give Nas his flowers all of the time.
I've seen Nas three damn times this year.
I've listened to Nas more than I care to mention.

But if you say any shyt about Nas or his hardcore stans on this website.
People jump out the window ready to take yah head off. :pachaha:
As I've mentioned before, many posters on here are just fans of SPECIFIC RAPPERS not necessarily HIP-HOP.
