What are y’all defending lol
Every stan goes to bat for their fav artist. Myself included. IMO opinion it only becomes crazy when you can’t appreciate another artist or you defend something crazy your fav artists did or made. An example would be if I defended NaS comments about Paltrow or said the Jarreau of Rap was fire(:rip:to commander:russ:) It’s ok to laugh at your fav artist once in a while or know you have to eat an L sometimes. Other than there’s nothing wrong with a stan going against the grain. I love Nastradamus:youngsabo:

You gonna act like Samsung didn't buy 1,000,000 copies of his album on the first week etc :comeon: Stans were ecstatic when he blew up his own albums, but that shyt is also the definition of fabrication and it's now catching up. Everyone knew it would.

Back in the day forums were where knowledgeable people were. Today not do much. Y’all still keep saying this shyt almost 10 years later

Yes Samsung bought 1 million and was exclusive for a day or 2. But the fukking album sold over 500k first week still after that lol

Exactly. It’d be different if that million was counted on the charts, but…

“Jay Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" album storms in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 528,000 copies in its first week according to preliminary data from Nielsen SoundScan.”

That's fine and all, but he had a publicity stunt for every one of his albums since the early 00s. Then he used that platform he created to toot his own horn. Sure he had skills, but so did many other rappers. It's not suprising he's having his emperor has no clothes moment. A lot of rappers have gone through a similar implosion of character - Cam, 50 etc and it always has to do with a lack of humility, which led to a lack of substance. Jay kept it up the longest, because he's the most talented of them all.

It feels like in the last few years...I dunno if it's been an overcorrection of certain narratives but it's gotten so over the top people on here act like his entire run was fabrication.
Ya'll want more love than an annual Birthday celebration

Comeback in 24 hr's and see how we celebrate jay. :ahh:

Another reason is Jay got too much dikk riders in the industry

Elliott Wilson
Clark Kent
Guru
Memphis bleek
Dream Hampton
Big face Gary
Ice
Just Blaze
Charlamagne

And they often go over the top with it

I don't think you can name a legendary rapper that doesn't have dikk riders. It comes with the territory

Most nikkas is just trolling with the jay z hate. The only 2 rappers who are more loved are NaS and pac. And guess what…those guys get trolled two:mjlol: Jay is definitely a top 5 rapper but to hardcore jay stans that’s considered trolling:mjlol: As for nikkas blaming NaS stans you see way more hardcore NaS stans giving jay props than vice versa. You see way more hardcore jay stans hating on NaS than vice versa. The best kind of stans is regular ones who can stan a guy and still appreciate the other. I’m a NaS stan but love jay. There’s jay stans that got love for NaS. Wayne stans defend Wayne, gucci stans defend Gucci, big stans defend biggie, but it’s only a problem when NaS stans defend NaS? FOH:russ:
Nas is not more loved than Jay

Every album is a publicity stunt. U have to promote your album :dahell:

It’s not Jay Z fault he can help sell things lol

Your post is why this thread is made. It’s irrational hate.

If you wish, we can call them gimmicks - Imma retire this is my last album, Imma come back this is my comeback album, Im buying my own albums and selling a bazillion copies. Then you still have veterans around doing it. Raekwon, Ghost, Cormega, Az. Nas lighting up the whole scene with great rhymes and music. Like what is in Jay-Z's catalog that puts him on a higher level? I'm looking back at his music and I just don't see it. He never pushed the envelope, he just made watered down albums to cash in on some Elvis shyt. I was there when most of that shyt dropped. Most of his hype is from Beyonce and his money, businesses and success. He's overrated as an artist and he set himself up for it.
