How do I interview for a job when I work?

Why are you afraid? You really need to start now to build a job history. Jobs are really easier than what the written descriptions say. Plus you can meet all kinds of friends.

I always bring a change of clothes (reg clothes and interview clothes) and say I had car trouble.
If I need to leave work, I say I have a dentist appointment.

Ok maybe I should clarify... I'm in a position where I prettymuch work whenever (and from wherever) I want as long as our infrastructure is working.
If someone asked me to bring a doctors note I would laugh in their face.

I used to take off later during day using PTO (paid time off). U gotta keep some PTO vacation time in ur balance to do shyt like this. Some jobs especially office jobs have flex time whereas u can leave early or come in late but make it up within the pay period. With life, u gotta be able to balance shyt.

I think it usually happens when managers have a hard time filling a shift or th person makes a bad habit of calling off work a lot. Seen it happen but probably not in other lines of work that aren’t shift based.

If you have PTO use it.

Else just ask for the day off about a week in advance if you have that much time before the day. If not, do whtat i do: Start coughing all over the office the day before. That way when you call in everyone can say they knew you were sick and will actually be happy you stayed home rather than get everyone else sick

This is why it pays to have a cool manager. Me and my previous manager were both trying to find a job before layoff date. We were told we had to stay to the bitter end to get our severance. My manager gave me time off to interview and then I ended up getting the job a few weeks before the closing date of the job I had then. He scheduled me two days a week for those weeks, sent me home one of those days, and I got paid each week as if I worked 40 hours.
