How do people with a job literally have ZERO money in their bank?

Thursday nights before payday me and my wife be in bed rubbing our hands together like birdman..feels good to take out $3-400 walking around cash just because. I feel bad sometimes though because I have cousins that make less than $250 every two weeks from burger king...like damn, my petty cash be more than some people's Checks, that thought forces me to be humble.

Had to revive this thread. It's sad how some brehs dont have their priorities straight
  • 35 y/o breh former coworker of mine
  • Makes about $93K a year
  • Has almost ZERO savings( i mean damn near $0)
  • has never had a 401K or Roth IRA or any form of retirement savings
  • Doesnt pay his student loans but complains about his credit being bad and how "white people invented a system to rate him and keep him down"
  • Living in an expensive ass apartment thats under his moms name
  • Struggling to keep up his child support payments
But he just sent me a text with a pic of a Porsche that he just bough. A 2 year old Porsche but still. :what:
Are Porshe's going put of business and selling all their cars buy 1 get 2 free or something? This is the 3rd person i know who got one this year. :lupe:
Edit: oh this is the same breh that texted me the other day saying he was worried he might get laid off at work but thank God theyjust moved him to a different dept

When I got out of college I was making mid 60s plus overtime

I don't think I ever had more than like 5K in my account that first year, and I had no student loans :sadcam:

If u dont watch money and u are reckless with spending u can def run through it no problem. I wish I would have saved that bwuead

it takes a while to build good financial habits ... especially if your parents never instilled it in you. plus ppl in general are reckless as fukk with spending. i believe that if you want to have a social life and be popular you really can't do that without a lot of waste (assuming that your salary is about average).

starting end of this month i'm gonna tighten my belt heavy but i already know that literally 90% of my current "friends" will disappear. But i've had my fun though :yeshrug:

U don't need to spend crazy dough to have a social life. Most of the money I wasted was on cars. Going out, meeting new people etc was very cheap in NYC. Me and my roommate would just go knock on the doors of the women who lived on our apartment floor, made a LOT of friends that way :pachaha:

Last few months have been good.... been saving about 1000-2000 a month. Now that we are in the clear from buying the house in April we can get to investing. Meeting with a planner next month. Hoping that will get our cash and investments over 6 figures by 2017. We are in a good position now though. If we keep the spending low we should be able to save like 3K a month. I'm hoping to start a higher paying job next year too.

:salute: keep us updated homie. gotta give us young professionals tips.

Those types of nikkas will have no money saved (or VERY little), but a bunch of Jordans in the closet. I stunt
when i feel like it but only because i'm already stable financially. If i had no assets and no money saved, i wouldn't be trying to front like i got it like that. That's usually the case, those nikkas are broke yet still flashy.

It's very simple. Live above your means and you will get fukked. Not to mention shyt happens. Some people get sick, can't work. Or they have to support family, there's child support, etc. Many reasons why people are broke. Is this a low key brag thread?

We switched it up.... not doing much saving post tax besides keeping our emergency stash good. Playing a little bit with stocks but mostly plowing everything into the 401K. Been getting back 15% over the last 2 years :damn: Cant beat that reliably

Def take any matching your employer gives you breh, free money
