I truly believe this would decrease the number of school shootings and murders significantly.

Like another poster mentioned...it will take a mass shooting at the Capitol or one of their kids being shot.... nothing short of that is moving the needle on guns
I feel like every elementary school should have this and security guarding the exit or exits all day or at least when the kids are present.
Arming teachers won't always help cuz what if it's an old lady or someone who can't handle it. They'll have to train every single teacher that's never used a gun before, plus the risk of having one in the classroom. I think they just need to increase security or police presence around the schools. But who knows if anything can stop these things from happening. We do need stricter gun laws and maybe even an increase in the age limit to purchase one. Of course these idiots in government go backwards instead. Here in Florida they made it where you don't need a permit or anything to buy one. Let's see how much of a disaster that causes.

Ever notice how 18 and 19 year old shooters are too chicken to play COD at military bases and police stations?
Theoretically, instead of defunding them, you could embrace the militarization of police, and give schools the equivalent security detail to what you'd find in an Iraqi convoy. They instantaneously cease to be soft targets
You could drastically reduce the manpower issues here by closing down small spread apart schools and concentrating them into bigger schools perhaps one Middle School per county, one high School per district, etc so that all these militariazed resources are efficiently used. Expand the bus system as well.
Republicans would love how this solution creates jobs out of thin air for poor white people, the NRA and rifle making companies would love how they're getting more orders for products, and the ignorant masses of Republican voters would get to keep their second amendment rights. Problem solved.

Mental health resources and thorough background checks for buying weapons. Allow parents to sue weapon manufacturers, the state (if necessary) and the NRA. Ban semiautomatic (assault) rifles in cities and only allow certain ones for hunting
