I grew up Luthern. The shyt was a hour long exactly. Same format every week just a different message or scripture. As a kid that was the longest hour of my life. But the good part was you knew exactly how far in the service you were.

Edit: Let me add, the pastor was a full time pastor. That was his job. He was professional and knew he only had a certain amount of time so obviously every sermon was prepared and practiced to make sure it fit the time constraint. They also had several services a day. I can't fully remember but I think there were three services on sunday. I think the last one finished by noon. That was a long time ago so I don't fully remember.
yup same. when i was a kid i hated every sunday. looking back it wasn't that bad

difference between high churches and low churches. most black people belong to low churches which are charismatic. charismatic churches basically operate off of vibes. high churches are ritualistic and based off of timing and order. high churches you get in and out. low churches ain't getting out until a certain vibe is met.

I went to a Catholic Church and was shocked at how efficient that shyt was.

We were in and out in like 15-20 minutes.

They did a song, gave us a cracker or some shyt, then poof. Gone.

My old Apostolic church wouldn’t even be done with the fukking opening song by then. They’d be speaking in tongues or just jamming.
Apostolic churches are INFAMOUS for their praise focus.

You going there you gonna move n dance n sweat.

My boy got ordained at one of those n man it was like 5 hours long.

I peaced out at 4.5 hours in.

How do you heathens grow up hating church?
You’re a kid going to school 5 days a week. The weekend is the only time to relax. You spend Saturday playing outside (millennial here) for hours.

You want the Sunday to recover and you’re dragged out of bed early morning for a 3+ hour church service. :stopitslime:

Why should church be a chore? I questioned it as a child: if God is omnipresent, why can’t I worship him from my bedroom on a Sunday morning?

Looking back, that’s the reason me and my lady don’t go to church. Too many of these pastors are charlatans. I’m not letting another man run my pockets. I served my time as a child to adolescence.

Because it's scheduled man they not trying to be in there all day. Football come on at 1 you supposed to be home in time to cook and shyt before the game :beli:

The pastor know he got a solid 20 mins not all fukking day to get his shyt off he gotta make sure his set is tight.

it means they speak the word. Ain't no "y'all ain't hear me." "Let me say it again for the nikkas and the biitches in the baccl, ha" "I got time today..." they just say what they got to say. If it missed themark, oh well see you next week
Clearly it missed the mark that’s why most of them are racists.

“Ring Bells like Sunday at 12 o clock”. No white people get out of church on time. I remember one of my first jobs in high school I was a bus boy at a restaurant and every Sunday at 12:15-12:30 here they come. In black church’s we didn’t know what time we would get out of there. Then they wanna ask you to come back later at 5 o clock.:gucci:
Maaaaan you have no idea, we were in Church 5 days a week between actual services, prayer meetings, Bible, study, or choir and worship practice and NONE of them were quick. @Rollie Forbes knows the truth.

Don't let it be Revival, that's Church every night for the week. Burning out ain't the word.

I was an usher so I had to travel to other churches and all that Bible study during the week too. I’m thankful though I didn’t understand it as a kid.

Don’t bother showing out in that church. My grandmother would take you outside whoop you and bring you back in.
