Might be a crappy internet connection on your end. I used to get the same message when using wireless in a room that's furthest from my router. I ended up running Ethernet cables through my attic and behind the walls to have it wired now instead of using wireless. Problem solved for me.

Not every device operates the same exact way. Its very possible for every wireless device you have to work well except for one or two. I've had it happen to me before with different game systems. A lot depends on your set up. Where the router is, where the console is, etc etc.
