Military has food, sheltered, travel and clothing cost covered so the salary thing is misleading.

Pretty much. The benefits of being in the military outstrip what you get for working fast food; and those benefits extend to your spouse and children for the rest of their lives (must be nice to get college money because pops was in the reserves). No fast food worker is getting housing help, healthcare, education help, insurance help and then having that extend to their spouse and kids just for working fast food a couple years.

I disagree. Deal with the constant deployments, training, health issues and overall just the danger in itself (training and in combat) vastly outweighs what any career field does. And these "army dudes" could be working in fast food - but they're not so that's irrelevant.

Most of these guys did work fast food before enlisting. Once they enlisted, they usually get their bachelor degree and a masters.... like me

And we should be deserving, we are an all volunteer force. We enlist so you don't have to go through that.
