NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Not saying they didn't, but Pharrell wasn't a household name at that point. When "Give It To Me" dropped, it was a part of the hot streak they were starting to have. This was after "Shake It Fast", but before "Danger" and "Southern Hispitality". Before 2000, they had "Superthug" and "Lookin At Me".
Not true. They had ODB’s album and specifically Got Your Money. They had Kelis Caught Out There and Get Along With You. They had Oh No by NORE. Shake Ya Ass and Danger by Mystikal, Girls Dem Sugar Beanie Man feat Mya, Southern Hospitality etc etc ALL dropped before Give It To Me.

"Got Your Money", which I mentioned was the only hit from ODB's album. Kelis "Caught Out There" did ok as did "Girls Dem Sugar". "Douthern Hospitality definitely dropped after "Give It To Me" as did "Danger" and up until that point, Jay's "Give It To Me" was their biggest record.

Son. No. Mystikal’s album. And all them joints was either poppin and/or out before Jay dropped his single. Southern Hospitality literally dropped in the same week before Give It To Me. I was a DJ around this time doing block parties/house parties and all kinda shyt. Even if u don’t feel they were a household name. Jay was in the industry. HE knew who was providing all his peers hot joints and he knew they were on their way to being super producers. Cause I damn sure knew. He jumped on the kettle when it was boiling. Look at the release dates for all of the shyt I told u. Which is why I said. Everything else u said was right BUT the Neptunes shyt. And Give It To Me was not bigger than Shake Ya Ass and Danger. I was spinning that shyt in the summer before Give It To Me dropped.

Push is an elite rapper. Other elite rappers respect his craft even if the charts prefer other - more pop friendly - artists

What the fukk is being a “superstar rapper” supposed to mean to Jay? You think he out here chasing hits?

Right:russ:
Imagine Jay out here trying to force a hit with NBA Youngboy, Da Baby, Post Malone etc. shyt would be disgust:hhh:
