I have not had antivirus software in a long time. I use a Mac and run Windows in VirtualBox. Or I have a PC with a Linux distro as the main and I run Windows in VB as well. So I can just jump to snapshots when shyt is damaged or not working.

The only windows machine with AV software I have is my work issued Windows laptop.

Plenty of browsers already take care of that. Gone are the days of simple Internet Explorer and Netscape. These days you can run Opera, and be good. Firefox with noscript and Adblocker is overkill. I would agree, get a AV program regardless, but as long as you're not diving deep into unfamiliar territories online, you should be fine.
the thing is, most uneducated people are either gonna use Internet explorer still or chrome.
Im being dead ass serious that people still use internet explorer in 2017 :wow:
Its fukked up but keeps me in business:francis: Most people dont know what Opera is and sure some use Firefox too, but they are in the minority.

90% of all nikkas in the hood with internet go to shady porn sites or shady MP3 download sites. this is a fact of life :deadrose:

I got 3 computers with 3 different operating systems (XP SP3, VISTA, Win 8.1) and each one has different combinations of the listed programs. Some that work for an X64 (64-Bit) processor wont work for an X86 (32-Bit) processor. so you gotta mix and match depending on what kind of hardware you have.

I only use malwarebytes, avg, superantispyware, adware cleaner, hitman pro

For XP malwarebytes, panda, hitman pro

For all those who say you don't need antivirus because all you have to do is not be stupid need to read this article. Application Vulnerability is more than just double clicking virus.exe and running it.

Apple And Samsung Say They Are Patching The Vulnerabilities Mentioned In The Wikileaks Dump

SAN FRANCISCO — The ability of the CIA to hack into Apple products was one of the more noteworthy revelations made Tuesday, amid a trove of documents released by WikiLeaks purporting to reveal the cyber tools used by the US intelligence agency. But on Tuesday night, Apple released a statement claiming that, as far as they knew, they had patched, or fixed, the bugs allegedly used by the CIA to hack into their products.

“Apple is deeply committed to safeguarding our customers’ privacy and security. The technology built into today’s iPhone represents the best data security available to consumers, and we’re constantly working to keep it that way. Our products and software are designed to quickly get security updates into the hands of our customers, with nearly 80 percent of users running the latest version of our operating system. While our initial analysis indicates that many of the issues leaked today were already patched in the latest iOS, we will continue work to rapidly address any identified vulnerabilities. We always urge customers to download the latest iOS to make sure they have the most recent security updates,” read the Apple statement.

The WikiLeaks documents claimed that the CIA had exploits that could work on iPhones, which have widely been seen as a more secure choice than Android. The details of how those exploits work, however, were not included in the documents, likely making it difficult for Apple to conclude with absolute certainty whether it had patched all the bugs within their system the CIA had used to potentially infiltrate the phone.

And the bolded is what the majority of you cats giving horrible information don't understand. There's tons of publicly available exploits for free to anyone who knows where to look for them. Exploits for the OS (Windows/Mac/NIX), exploits for applications (chrome, word, iTunes, flash, Java, Adobe, etc) and exploits in various protocols.

He's 100% wrong and the misinformation in this thread is hilarious :heh:

Very. No matter how savy you think you are, you can and most likely will be got. Unless you are running Linux, you aint safe.

Linux isn't safe, not even remotely close to being safe. It was a vulnerable linux kernel that caused the massive PSN hack a few years ago.

No matter how tech savvy you are, stay strapped up breh.

UBlock origin, AVGFree, stop going to shady sites, and stop pirating shyt.....................................................................................................................to a certain extent tho:ehh:

Guys please stop spreading this myth. You can easily catch a virus browsing legitimate websites like the coli. This site is running xenforo and there's public exploits available for the platform and the plugins that would allow someone to gain access to the site and upload malicious code to everyone who visits the site.

It's why Chrome started doing malicious activity notifications on websites.
