1) Record sales...Pac wins...

2) Who has more fans...? Pac wins

3) Bigger impact on the game...? Pac wins

4) Bigger social impact...Pac wins

Nas doesn't beat Pac in any category that matters...

If you say Nas is more lyrical than Pac, that's just an empty opinion that can not argued with any objective criteria...

And even if you think Nas is a better lyricist, and thus better than Pac, then you would have to say Canibus is in the top 3, because it can be argued that he is better than Nas, and by miles...

In everything that can be objectively measured, Pac is better than Nas...
Record sales don't matter. Nas has a loyal base of fans who list him as their favorite rapper. Nobody says Pac is their favorite and never will - minus a few people. There are people like me that have Pac on a top 6 list, but not with him in the top 2.

I guess you can say Tupac's persona and certain songs were more inspirational. But Nas is the better rapper... and fan or Not, Nas has had that conscious sh1t on his back forever. There are better people, who are more detailed and accurate with the conscious sh1t - but Nas keep that going as a movement. Tupac talked about the sh1t everyone knew was happening, Nas spoke about the reasons behind it.

A writer of song lyrics.

That is the definition of being a lyricist, and pac was a far better song writer than nas.

Let me get a song, for example. See, people always posit that naS is some sort of lyrical beast. I dont see it. Then every time I ask for examples, literally I have NEVER got an answer.

If someone were to ask me how Lupe is a better lyricist than naS I could EASILY give them the examples.
What's up kid? I know shyt is rough doing your bid
When the cops came you should've slid to my crib
fukk it black, no time for looking back it's done
Plus congratulations you know you got a son
I heard he looks like you, why don't your lady write you?
Told her she should visit, that's when she got hyper
Flippin, talk about he acts too rough
He didn't listen he be riffin' while I'm telling him stuff
I was like yeah, shorty don't care, she a snake too
fukking with the nikkas from that fake crew that hate you
But yo, guess who got shot in the dome-piece?
Jerome's niece, on her way home from Jones Beach - it's bugged
Plus little Rob is selling drugs on the dime
Hangin out with young thugs that all carry nines
At night time there's more trife than ever
What's up with Cormega, did you see 'em, are y'all together?
If so then hold the fort down, represent to the fullest
Say what's up to Herb, Ice and Bullet
I left a half a hundred in your commissary
You was my nikka when push came to shove
One what? one love

Nas was a better rapper, Tupac was more charismatic and controversial. What if Nas was out there getting shot, dissing everyone, acting and getting rape cases? Simple, ya'll talking about Nas not being versatile but Nas has hardcore gangsta tracks (NY State of Mind), the Untitled album which is all about the history of blacks, Stillmatic where he went off on political subjects, love tracks like "You Wont See me Tonight", albums like Life is Good where he went nostalgic and talked about divorce, fatherhood and more adult themes, Nas "I Can" is just as deep as any "deep" Tupac track. Nas versatility is underrated. Nas' best tracks are better than Tupac's IMO.

Really? This is lyricism? It was the only song on illmatic that wasnt terrible, I'll grant you that, but its a storytelling track, not a lyrical track... even then it aint better than hundreds of Pac tracks, lyrically

Pac's verses on "Who Do U Believe In" are infinitely better, lyrically

I see mothers in black cryin, brothers in packs dyin
Plus everybody's high, too doped up to ask why
Watchin our own downfall, witness the end
It's like we don't believe in God cause we livin in sin
I asked my homie on the block why he strapped, he laughed
Pointed his pistol as the cop car passed and blast
It's just another murder, nobody mourns no more
My tear drops gettin bigger but can't figure what I'm cryin for
Is it the miniature caskets, little babies
Victims of a stray, from drug dealers gone crazy
Maybe it's just the drugs, visions of how the block was
Crack came and it was strange how it rocked us
Perhaps the underlyin fact they hide explain genocide
It's when we ride on our own kind
What is it we all fear, reflections in the mirror
We can't escape fate, the end is gettin nearer

Dont see how its even debatable

:salute:

There r so many songs that people still don't appreciate from Nas... at least if they aren't paying attention.
