Huge influence
I had friends and family who didn't give a damn about basketball, but would watch just to see A.I and then buy his shoes and posters of him.
Back in middle school it seemed like everybody had the Questions or the Answers (his shoes) and also his jersey
This is all quite amazing, if you take into account he never had any national televised commercials or endorsements like Jordan or Grant Hill etc.
bytches love that nikka!all the black chicks in middle school wearing that Iverson jersey![]()
What's your beef against Iverson, breh? The only thing that is manufactured is AI's "impact" on the court.
Iverson's influence was beyond basketball. Look at him. He was your normal street hood baller dude that made it big. And when he made it big, he didn't change who he was. He still dressed the same, and acted the same. He was real. That spoke much louder than his play on the court.
A.I. made Reebok relevant
Got no beef with Iverson, dude was one of my favorite players growing up. But here's the thing - dudes can't differentiate between the influence he had and his play on the court. His image has had dudes saying the most wildest shyt since he established himself in the league to this very day. His story as a player has been embellished by his "fans" more than every other star in the modern era. What's your beef against Iverson, breh?
11-time all star
MVP
Rookie of the Year
3 time steals leader
3 time scoring leader
What didn't you like about his game?

A.I. and Moss were like gods to kids born between 88 and 93. You couldn't play ball at a park without a point guard trying to jock or a dude catching a pass and saying he Moss'd him.
