Cuz lets keep it honest, dbz is a simple story with simple characters but it still gets traction.

People always bring this up but plenty of great stories keep it simple. Complicated doesn't always mean great or that there's actual depth. Look at the Matrix sequels. The Dragon Ball franchise could give you easy stories while adding good character development, great fights, and easing into concepts like aliens, androids, and all kinds of weird shyt now.

Its iconic, timeless, and legendary.

As a kid, it looked different and straight up BETTER than anything else on TV.

Real shyt, how can you be an 8 year old child, see THIS shyt, and not fall in love?

Yeah when I was kid my only choices for animated action shows were Transformers/Beast wars, Ninja Turtles, Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men. They were cool, especially Batman...but when I saw DBZ it was WRAP.

Then I saw the uncensored version online and I became a fan for LIFE.

dbz :blessed:

My nephew got me watching super now. Can’t believe it’s still popping after that long ass hiatus. They downsized the show into dbz kai for the younger generation and been releasing games. Got dbz fighters coming out at the end of the month :gladbron:

you basically just answered your question(though there is more to it, but thats one of the reasons)

DB being a simple minded martial art story is partially why its so popular. Its not filled with polarziing themes, political elements, or concepts etc. Its just a fighting show about guys saving the world. With new powerful aliens thown at them :yeshrug:
