You can keep yanking that opinion chain as much as you want but at the end of the day he's had critical and commercial success continually over a 20 year period.

When the shelf life for the average rap artist is 2-3 albums and you've got a guy who has 10+ #1 albums with some of his best reviewed material in the middle and towards the end of his career clearly there's something special there.

You're just blind if you can't see that :yeshrug:

And that's the shelf life of the average successful/good rapper, the average rapper with a deal is lucky to even drop an album let alone 2.

nikkas throwing out numbers.

Pitbull doing numbers...is he a GOAT?
his music is generic trash so no, he is not the goat. Jay is doing numbers by putting out great music, while managing to stay relevant for 20 years.
And i doubt pitbull sold 40 mill.... ( not counting ringtone sales)

This thread is about Jay being a legend not a GOAT (which he is as well), but those numbers don't make Pitbull a GOAT contender but they prove that he's commercially successful which is all he's really out to be.

The numbers people are dropping for Jay are to prove his commercial success, longetivity, relevance, impact, and influence; which when considering the level he's reached in all of those categories, while also dropping great music consistently that whole time, there's no denying that he's a legend and a GOAT contender.

I like Jay Z, but the way y'all put him on a pedestal is crazy.

He has flaws.
:dahell: nikka what?

Pitbull probably sold just as much if not more, does that put him in contention for GOAT?

And we know damn well pitbull ain't influenced shyt.

No but it does put to rest your "influence" argument.

Ppl are saying jay and nas are not legends but they say that bauce, 50, meek, gucci etc are.

I've just seen someone compare jay to pit bull

People say Kanye is gay even though snatched up of the baddest out there and nutted in them.

But then say insinuate that Young Thug is the holy mecca of masculinity. Its the internet where retards and weirdos come to make retard weirdo statements.

Jay telling you're stupid ass to not wear a jersey is not influential. Him advertising/name dropping Europeon designers/watch makers in his music is not influential. It's lame and pretentious.

Cam'ron is more influential than Jay Z

Kanye is more influential than Jay Z

Em is more influential than Jay Z( I hate Eminem)

Nope.

I agree. from 1996 to 1999 he was a nobody.. 2001 he got Ethered.. 2003 he got with Beyonce.. then he bought 0.1% of the Nets, gentrified Brooklyn, ran Def Jam to the ground, and made a couple 3 to 4 mic albums (Black Album, American Gangster).:yeshrug:

I dont see it.
