You can post numbers all night

You don’t think Carmelo wouldn’t have those or similar numbers playing with Prime Steph, Klay and Dray? Not to mention their supporting casts of players that included Looney and Iggy?

Do you know how much the floor opens up and how much easier it is to score when you have weapons like that on the court with you? Act like you’ve played ball before nikka. Or maybe you haven’t and that’s why you talking out your ass

KD has been exposed when he doesn’t have elite talent playing with him and for someone who’s had so much his whole career, he has very little to show for it. Plug in any GOAT calibre scorer on that GS team and the results look the same. He didn’t do anything special over there
Carmelo is a defensive liability and a ball stopper at the time KD went to GS he was already washed.

He changes the dynamic entirely. Warriors wouldn’t be as good and would have exploitable weaknesses that could lead to them not winning a championship.

Dudes putting up like 27 a game on maybe his best shooting from the field. Where’s the bad season? Everyone else is having a down year with coach bud and he’s the only reason they won the games they did.
Many people have him 2nd team all nba. I don’t think I would do it because of his record, but I any mad at it.

KD won his MVP when Westbrook played less than 50 games :manny: that wasn't like a super team.

Prime KD also gave you better defense than Melo could because of his height and wingspan.

I like Melo but KD was a better player.

Agreed. And also, let's stop making excuses and revisionist history for Melo's '07 and '08 Denver teams.
  • The year before ('06) Iverson was a career best 33ppg, 7apg, 3rpg with PHI.
  • The year he was traded ('07) Iverson was 31ppg 7apg, 3apg in 15 games with PHI.
  • With DEN, his shot attempts went way down (6 shots less) but his field goal% went way up (from 41% to 45%). He wasn't suddenly "past his prime". Mf'ers just didn't play defense.
DEN both years: top 3 in ppg, bottom 3 in opp ppg... and back-to-back 1st round exits. You could say well Melo was only 22 and 23... but at the same age KD took OKC to the WCFs ('11) and NBA Finals ('12). Deron Williams at the same age took his teams further, in those exact same years (07-WCF, 08-WCSF).

Basically, whatever criticisms ppl have for KD... Melo doesn't help the argument.

Oh hell no they were not playing defense in Denver. They had Marcus Camby as a defensive player of the year and the rest of the team got lazy knowing they had him anchoring their defense.

KD was averaging damn 30 points in his 3rd season, making his team go from 23 wins to 50!!!

In their 2nd trip to the playoffs as a group, they already made the conference finals. shyt even in their first playoff trip they took championship Lakers to 6 games in which one of those were decided by a Paul Gasol game winning shot. They were onto something special while Melo Nuggets kept getting bounced in either 5 games or 4 games. Until they traded for Chauncey Billups who meshed well with Melo. And even that duo managed to lose in first round after their pretty great 2009 playoff journey.
