How is Ready To Die better than Reasonable Doubt? Why is Big supposedly better overall?

RTD or RD

Personally, the first half of RD is much better than RTD's first half, but the second half betrays the album to me. I find myself listening to RD way more though

I love Reasonable Doubt but I honestly prefer Ready to Die.

Only thing I'd give Reasonable Doubt over Ready To Die is the songs have a better sequence and flow together really well. But there's no way I'd even put RD close to Ready To Die. :yeshrug:

I actually re-listened to both albums again over the last weekend. Me personally, I'd take Reasonable Doubt.

Sidnenote: I personally think comparing albums track by track is one of the worst ways to compare them. You should compare them as whole works.

I don't know about you but you cant make a judgment with track by track comparisons...

Albums are a collective... its an experience and an emotional investment involved..

anyway.. how can anything Jay do be considered better when all he does is jack from big.. and lived his entire career trying to replace big.. Vol 1.. (which is very underrated) is Jay's struggle with Big's death and gave some if his best stuff..

Instead of trying to replace big and brooklyns finest .. if he acknowledged Big as the best and said I'm next in line (ala kareem to magic to Jordan) he would get more love.. People consider replacing as a means to forget the original..

Personally, I feel Big more than Jay....so I'm going with RTD.

Always felt like Big was lil more clever/slick/cool with the rhymes.

I can feel Jay "trying too hard" at times.Like "Nicca you've been thinking of the punchline for years:martin:"

I guess you can't really knock him for that, but with Big, it flowed more naturally IMO

But that's just me:yeshrug:
