Personally, the first half of RD is much better than RTD's first half, but the second half betrays the album to me. I find myself listening to RD way more though
Only thing I'd give Reasonable Doubt over Ready To Die is the songs have a better sequence and flow together really well. But there's no way I'd even put RD close to Ready To Die.
I guess I just don't see anything special about Warning.
Friend Or Foe 96>
It all just seems tacky to me and they don't really work as songs imo.
He really levels up on LAD for me, love the storytelling there.
I don't know about you but you cant make a judgment with track by track comparisons...
Albums are a collective... its an experience and an emotional investment involved..
anyway.. how can anything Jay do be considered better when all he does is jack from big.. and lived his entire career trying to replace big.. Vol 1.. (which is very underrated) is Jay's struggle with Big's death and gave some if his best stuff..
Instead of trying to replace big and brooklyns finest .. if he acknowledged Big as the best and said I'm next in line (ala kareem to magic to Jordan) he would get more love.. People consider replacing as a means to forget the original..
