There is no vaccine at the moment but it's a virus that dies out over time. Athletes wont be affected so much because most of them work out daily which helps support the immune system to counter the virus. I know people who tested positive and they feeling no symptoms.

Honestly I think alot of us have already encountered the bug and overcame it already.
They're cured of it because the virus ran its course, not because they got a cure for it. In most people, you will eventually get better even without a cure.
So the immune system will fight it off now after you get rid of it?

Trump is going to “open up the US” in April...

that basically means everybody will be going back to work shortly after. IMO The virus will run through the country and quickly kill off the 1-2% as projected. I think there will be a period of a month or so when a lot of people are trying to recover from this virus and then maybe we develop herd immunity.

Trump is about to fast track this virus in April and try to have it done with by the end of the summer.

Sounds like an awful plan but he’s calling the shots :yeshrug:

That is the hypothesis they are working with now, but we are unsure as of now how long the immunity is, if any. Likely once you've had it, you would be immune to that strand of that virus and should have SOME protection from similar strands in the future.

There is no vaccine. Until there is one, this shyt is gonna keep wrecking people. This could last into the fall. The point of social distancing is to lower exposure levels and prevent hospitals from being overrun. Given how rapidly it's spreading it's clear the country is failing at that. A major reason why is the terrible govt response, lack of testing at the start, and Americans refusing to take this seriously (to this day). Given that people think/want to get back to normal in a few weeks, I can definitely imagine folks saying "fukk it" and going back to semi-normal behavior which leads to another wave of cases.

It's like when kids go back to school after summer or Christmas. They get exposed to all types of shyt, get sick, and have to go to the hospital. But this is on a far bigger scale, and more deadly. I don't see it ending.

Trump doesn't call any shots on this. The strength of the US economy is driven by California and New York. Both states are under state quarantines. Trump has no authority over either state to tell people to go to work...and even if he did, what would it accomplish? People are scared to go anywhere outside of grocery stores right now. Your grandma gonna go get a haircut at the salon because Trump said the economy is back? How many people gonna go to Home Depot to get a lawnmower? Anyone going to the dentist? No. The economy can't run if customers aren't spending money.

This is not true for Charlotte. Schools aren’t starting back until May 15 and non essential businesses are closed until the end of April, no matter what Trump has said. Governor Roy cooper made that decision.

State by state, city by city, there are different protocols taking place, and for many/most April will not be a fast track virus month where everyone will just be thrown to the wolves even if Trump would like that to be the case.

The immune system has already shown it can overcome this strand of the virus which is why there are people who have tested positive and are showing no symptoms or fell ill but over came the virus on simply bed rest exercise and just giving it time to pass

However this virus can develop a new strand and hit the population again in the fall or next year whenever our immune system is most compromised which is around what we colloquially call flu season. You probably wouldn't see this epidemic during summer because heat supports the immune system in fighting diseases.

But natural immunity has its limitations. Stay protected and if you feel the symptoms take the vaccine
