Producers and labels ripping producers off.
Anthony Fantano is a vulture, young foreign/suburban nikkas stop using these "reviewer" go between cacs to make points.
It's not cut and dry...
I'm not a fantano fan but what he says isn't uncommon. Sony digital, Chuck English, and justice league been complaining about this for a hot minute
:what: be a p*ssy and a retard brehs

that's the point you dunce cap

producers do so much more than just make a beat you can't fukk them over like that

beat makers just send a beat and that's it, it's easy to play games with them
You mean audio engineering? That shyt ain't hard I took that up as my minor in college and dropped it because I could learn more on my own

There’s a fukk ton of opportunity with the “VLOG culture” on YouTube and beat makers

Like the lane is right there.

If rappers keep doing this to beatmakers change your clientele for now

You mean making background music for Vloggers? How does one even get into that?

A lot of them finesse themselves...you can't actually expect an up and coming rapper to pay for beats when it's so many beatmakers out here that want to be on, who'll give free beats away just to gain some clout

On the flip side I think more beatmakers should go back to actually linking up with these rappers, and booking time to play and sell their beats in person, instead of just e-mailing a bunch of beats or putting them up on YouTube for people to steal
I'm a rapper/producer.
Studios are dying and you can get a professional interface for like 2hunna.
If you're in a major city, that's definitely the move.

Yup.

Are you in YouTube/instagram ? DM’s

I’ve edited videos for a few well known youtubers and vloggers just off hitting them up,
and showing what I can do with their videos from their instagrams and I’m telling you there’s a wide open lane for cats who know how to make beats quick and “trendy” because vloggers tend to be

A:Vain and

B: very particular about quality and aesthetic so they’ll pay up

The fitness industry side especially.

I’ve gotten back into reason/logic because of it.

Hmm closed mouths don't get fed so...

I've been applying that logic lately on twitter, but no such luck yet

Exactly, at one time I had a traveling studio lol...but not only could I sell beats but I could also record and mix down tracks for rappers who needed an engineer

producers take basic 2 tracks and turn them into fully tracked out songs

it doesn't have to do with engineering or completely producing the beat

it's the little things

making intros, building bridges, knowing what to take out or put in the beat, putting the right features together, taking it to other people to work on it. god damn kanye was shopping around the stronger beat to other producer because he didn't think the drums hit hard enough. that's some real producer shyt.

listen to people talk about kanye and 40 in the studio. they can but don't necessarily have to do much behind the boards but 40 will take a beat from majid jordan and turn it into hold on we're going home

yall are just not understanding what im saying

producers are the architects. as much as dre has been clowned here for not producing there's a reason EVERYONE runs to him. just having him around when your making a track instantly makes that song 10x better. he gonna tell your beat maker to change the 808 snare to this james brown sampled snare. its a little thing but it's major in the grand scheme of a beat.

you'd be a fukking idiot to fukk over a nikka like that. where as beat makers are a dime a dozen. yall talking about tm88, sonny digital, justice league.... ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh. in the way im talking about it they're advanced beat makers.

:sarcasticmj: and whose said "beat makers" don't do all that?

You think nikkas just make a 16 bar loop and call it a day?

Do you even listen to most of the beats nowadays they'll have intros, outros, a break down, bridge all of that

If your drums don't hit hard then either your sample is trash or you didn't bother to do some eqing or compression

:mjoreally: you sounding real funny breh

TM88 and Sonny Digital both work with artists in the studio and help craft songs out of their beats, which is what a producer is, not someone who makes intros or suggestions to change an instrument, that's all part of making the beat. If you think Metro is more of a "producer" than these other mfs you don't really get it
