Get that paperwork lined up

Business is business at the end of the day.

Rap is a social and personal business, but still business

I agree but there is no way to really stop it. it's a tough and over saturated game. and lets be real. a lot of beat makers/producers out there are doing the same damn thing. so generic ass rappers looking for that same damn generic ass sound can find it in a million and one different places, most of the time for free. everyone says "get your paperwork in order" but doesn't stop and think about the grey areas. it isn't black and white. if you're an unknown kid who has been making beats in his bedroom for years and finally gets the opportunity for a mixtape placement or something and says "wait..hold up. before I send the stems over, let's get the split sheet in order. what's your budget for this project btw" what do you think the rapper and his team is gonna do?:russ: they'll do a couple things; either not reply and dead you, not reply and just use your beat anyway, or have someone else re-make the beat. best case scenario they'll say that they want to use your beat for free and establish a long term relationship with you that could possibly lead to other work.

the obvious best way for a producer to come up is to grow -with- an artist/rapper together like a packaged deal. like how Ness , even though he's doing bigger and better things, was synonymous with A-Boogie. Or, offer a perfect balance of a sound that's "now" and relatable but still different enough to stand on it's own away from everything else. Or lastly go the route that a lot of kids are going for quick money and offer cheap, generic sounding beats marketed towards rappers who are specifically trying to sound like another rapper. Those "type" beats on YouTube. THAT (going back to the Soundclick days) is really what fukked the game up. But it has people eating so it's very tough to hate on and use it as a scapegoat :yeshrug:

What i don't get is how y'all can say these producers are getting ripped off....they know what the game is (and have history of what it has been), and continue to do that shyt...and then want to cry about not getting what they deserve.

I understand the need to make a living, but at what point do these men stand on principles? They really out here prostituting themselves to get noticed...then realizing that being a hoe aint all it's cracked up to be.

A bigger discussion needs to be had about producers and DJ's needing to police their own community....they're mostly responsible for the condition it's in.

So now Quavo out here stealing credits for beats. Smh this shyt gotta stop.

Some nikka hit me up on IG yesterday representing Lex Luger basically asking me to pay for production collaborations. That shyt was an auto red flag, not to mention all the fukkery going on with producers/artists (TM88, Quavo) fukkin over up and coming producers.

Producers have been getting jerked for years. I remember my homie going up to a label back in the early 90’s to beef about his royalty check for a hit record he did. The only way to flip the script is to have your own shyt and break artists signed to you exclusivley. The 4080 / shady rule will never change

This hands down the best time in history to pursue being a rapper.
You can be absolute trash...
But the beat will carry you...
And the beats is basically free.:dead:

:what: be a p*ssy and a retard brehs

that's the point you dunce cap

producers do so much more than just make a beat you can't fukk them over like that

beat makers just send a beat and that's it, it's easy to play games with them
You have no idea what you're talking about and I'm "in the game".
Stop trying to sound smart and stay in a Fan's place: listening/purchasing music.
The titles are for personal hype...and to impress "fans".
If you're not on both sides of the board, you're not doing shyt anyway.
Songwriters get ripped off by "producers" AND "artists"...so do "beatmakers".
Many "producers" can't make beats or write. That's factual. It's not a graduated title or earned position, it's just a loose descriptor people put extras on. That's it.
