It is apparent to me the kind of social circles you run in where deeper conversations about popular culture and its reflections on society is not a norm.

I'm not "emotionally invested". I have these conversations on the regular. My mind tends to operate in a way that always looks for a deeper meaning. If that's not you, cool but stop cluttering my thread with bullshyt when you're not effectively contributing to this discussion.

At the end of the day, I think the fact that Rihanna unapologetically gets hers and doesn't give a fukk (AND has all these industry nikkas looking like fools over her) threatens people.
