Unless your a multi-millionaire which most of these rappers are Not. NYC jus ain't worth living in.

Your money is much longer down south.

It was a recent study that showed that the average American would have to pay 84 percent of their income on rent/mortgage if they just up and moved to NYC.

That shyt is for the birds breh.

If you tour(arenas, not hole in the wall clubs), you can handle a Manhattan lifestyle.

And from what I hear, Cudi and Curren$y tour heavy

Financially you right but lifestyle wise it defeats the purpose. You live in the city have access to isht on reg. If you touring, you aint home often to need access to anything. And for literally half the price you can life 30 minutes away and actually have land and not have to sound proof your house when you playing music.

This is kinda true... The high ass prices for everything n the taxes make this city sometimes really hard to thrive in. Im well off but sometimes I wonder how some people manage to live here...

Im pretty sure NYC gotta be top 5 most expensive cities to live in in the world

Most of these nikkas got multiple cribs. Prodigy live on Long Island, AZ moved to Englewood, New Jersey basically NY suburbs. I think Q-Tip still lives in NYC, Phife moved to ATL and then LA. Nas still lives in NYC according to his Twitter.

That nikka Havoc probably live in apartment 3B, Queensbridge projects :lolbron:

Nas mostly lives in LA tho...

EXACTLY!

I lived in NYC for 10 years but I had to get out. That place is becoming a city like the ones in novels with dystopian futures. Only for the SUPER RICH and young men of coler are getting hemped up everyday by the police state cause of the stop and frisk laws. I don't know why anybody that ain't stupid rich would want to live there. But for some reason people always do.

Stop and frisk is a major deterrent of crime tho, NYC is the safest big city in America and it was a crime infested cesspool just twenty years ago.

NEW ERA
I know Nas got spots outside NY. He bought my peoples crib a few years ago.

To put in perspective, this spot was 4BR, 3 BA, New development and was going for ~$500M

That wouldn't get you a studio apartment in the good parts of the city.

Mad cats around here live in Alpine and Englewood, NJ and other NY Suburbs (LI, NJ, CT) I seen a few of them at the gym or just going to the store.
A $500 million dollar house breh?

So you would be cool with you or a family member being manhandled, thrown against a wall, and talked to like a dog?

I and plenty of friends and family members have been through this and NONE of us were breaking any laws.

Im cool with a city cracking down on crime but when it means innocent kids of colour are harassed on a reguler basis then I can't condone it:
