Unless your a multi-millionaire which most of these rappers are Not. NYC jus ain't worth living in.
Your money is much longer down south.
It was a recent study that showed that the average American would have to pay 84 percent of their income on rent/mortgage if they just up and moved to NYC.
That shyt is for the birds breh.
I read somewhere that Curren$y(from NO) got a pad in Tribeca.

Wiki page listed him as a notable resident, along with Cudi
I used to live next door to Cudi in Bushwick, he had already worked on Kanye album (808s) dropped his tape (kid named cudie) and day n night was a hit and dude still couldn't afford to live in manhattan not even Williamsburg.
He moved to the city the next year though after that tour money started coming thru.
Puff has like 3 cribs in NY.Bobby D & Jay z are like the only famous New yorkers off the top of my head that still live in the city.
A $500 million dollar house breh?
I find it kool that you guys are breaking shyt down for us outsiders, shyt i use to think new york was the best place ever before i ever came on the net but i like the info i see on here opens my eyes on a few things.
NYC and SF are my two favorite cities in the US, but they are almost the two most expensive areas. Now the talk of having to be super rich to live there is an exaggeration. But you will have to budget, and you'll probably need to get a roommate unless you want a really lame studio. NY is the best place to live in this country when you're young because everything is at your doorstep. Every possible event or networking opportunity. BUT you will eventually get tired of it and you won't want to raise a family there. When I decide to get all "grown up" and settle down. I'll probably leave NYC too. But please don't but this dsytopia stuff that goat poster is selling you, it's not serious. It's just that the Mayor tends to think he's everyone's personal health advisor so there are bikes you can pick up on street corners to ride instead of taking cars and he limited the size of drinks, etc. NYC's biggest problem is the cost of living, but every world class city on earth is like that.
The thing is, rappers want to live like that ballers, but most of them cannot afford to buy those enormous properties in NYC. But they can do it in ATL, Carolina, etc. What you'll notice often is that out of towners have a different perspective on NYC than many native New Yorkers. You have the type that would never live anywhere else, and then the type that are fed up with the city. Most out of towners probably fall somewhere in the middle, but hate it if they things are too much. My friends from Dallas always thought NYC was too much.
From what I hear London is even more expensive than NYC. I' ve been to Paris n it most def was more expensive than ova here... N I heard London more expensive than Paris so I can only imagine what yall dealin with ova therei feel the sameway about London too these days, its like why do outsiders want to be here so much but you can only understand why.
