man you guys are having selective memory, there have been times where the kicker/defense has let peyton down, but he always will take the blame
so does this mean that QB's like Brady and Roethlisberger shouldn't have as many as they do?
yes they should im not gonna take nothing away from a player to big up another one, only thing I will say is they have had better defenses, look at bens stats the first super bowl he won

like I said, they were both playoff teams and had one of the best defenses in the league each year. Any team in the playoffs can get hot enough to win the championship, if that hasn't been proven clearly the last few years, every team is good.

Peyton Stats

09 Chargers Playoffs: Passing: - 310 YDS, 1 TD No INTS

11 Jets Playoffs: 225 YDS, 1 TD No INTS

535 yards, 2 TD's, no interceptions. What a choke:heh: your argument is finished now

How many tds was he averaging a game? How many points were the colts averaging a game compared to what the offense did in those games.

Not sure why you're taking this so personally :mjpls:

now you're changing your own argument, It went from he choked to "how many td's was he averaging a game"

So now not throwing as many TD's a game in the playoffs as you did in the regular season means you choked? Does that mean almost every quarterback in the history of the NFL are chokers since there are very few if any QB's who have done that? :lupe:

Nope, just peyton. When you fail to live up to the standards you've set for yourself thats a choke. Everybody isnt measured on the same level as peyton because he is so great in the regular season. But he's a known playoff choker, hence the label "Best regular season quarterback" but you believe what you wanna believe :manny:

3. I hope he gets one more. Even if he plays for my team's rival, it's cool. I think he's the only exception. I like Timmy D, but can't root for his team.

Of course he didn't play "as he normally would", it was the playoffs, both the Jets & The Chargers had one of the best defenses in the league each of those years. My point is he had reasonable/above average games each time and didn't "choke" either of them away like you tried to imply in your original post I quoted. There is a huge difference

You've mentioned this a few times but as a Jet fan I can tell you that the 2010 D was not that great. Yes they were good but not great. They had to be bailed out by last minute drives no less than 4 times that season (yes Mark Sanchez had to actually save their bacon those games, let that marinate for a minute) against some woeful competition: Browns, Lions, Broncos, & Texans, none of which were playoff teams.

You're also conveniently omitting his 41-0 loss in January '03 to the Jets. Pennington in his first playoff start out played him BADLY, and that Jet D was nothing Earth-shattering & contributed mightily to their 2-5 start to that season.

I don't get all the buck-passing in regards to his playoff Ls... He's certainly earned his share of the blame and save for an opposing QB who had no business being in a SB, he would have a well-deserved 0 SB rings. And let's not get started on his phantom, media-gift to their golden boy SB MVP from that game.

GREAT regular season QB, but a choker who tenses up and is as un-clutch as I've ever seen in the playoffs. If a coach or fan had to choose between him & his brother in a big spot in a big playoff game & they chose Peyton, that would be as insane as it gets.

The amount he has. Nobody on his team prevented him from getting/winning a Super Bowl. Don't forget this:

Don't know how many he should have but it feels like he should have more than one with how dominant he is.
