Waterpik, brush, then mouthwash in the morning, then repeat 11 hours later. Tbh, I just started doing all this twice a day in October. Flossing after every meal helps evening more. To make it worst, I just started using my Waterpik about 2 years ago. But I was using those green plastic flossers you get at Walmart for a little while, but I was told those aren't recommended. But I think it was better than only brushing in the morning.
I wish I started doing all this twice a day before I developed periodontal disease. Losing my health and dental insurance for a year and a half in 2007 didn't help at all. And losing both insurances before that in 1995, didn't help either, although that was for a much shorter period. It's just that the pain came back not long after I lost my insurance. I didn't know how much those dental cleanings were preventing my sore gums. But I still think a lot of my gum disease issues are a result of having all that sliver put in my mouth as a child.
You notice that most of the people you grew up with in the hood are missing a lot of their teeth. I'm talking about the brothers and the sisters. That's sad how they make certain dental work so unaffordable, even if you have dental insurance..
