Bay Area
Recent 22 year old grad living in the Bay Area.

Just got a job that earns me 60k a year with all the benefits:ehh:

I’d be satisfied with it if I could move out of my moms place (just moved back in August after leaving 5 years ago.)

Live in the bay where everybody under the age of 25 lives at home brehs :francis:

After taxes, average rent for a studio in the Bay Area ($1800+) would be damn near half my check, so it’s best to just suffer at home and stack up money/help moms out until I get a better job or position. While I’m here, I’ll pay off my loans so I can be debt free by 23-24

Currently make 150,000 per year as a DevOps engineer for a artificial intelligence start up in nyc (I'm also a crossfit coach). I'm happy but I'm thinking about starting up my own thing. Most of the business people that I admire are entrepreneurs.

Active CrossFit athlete here. Major props for coaching. I know a lot of coaches have 2 careers so I have a ton of respect for those who help people like me in their spare time.

Unfort a lot of people on this site just want to believe that everyone is as miserable as they are :manny:

Back on SOHH we used to have open discourse about money, careers, education. Here it’s like nobody wants to hear about people that do well.

Props to you though.

:salute:

a fellow mass resident...them taxes are a motherfukker aren't they? :wow:

Definitely Taxachusetts, but seeing people are taken care of on a local level makes it easier

Somewhere on an Xbox
21 and making around 21K while in the military. I'm in a weird space because part of me wants to be rich, but the other part doesn't give a damn about money. Honestly, if you were to give me more money, then I'd just put most of it into savings and leave out what I need, which is what I've been doing for my entire career.

That's something that bugs me about the private sector, folks and the companies will get secretive real quick when discussing salaries during the job search and interview process or just in general. Meanwhile the gov tells you up front what your salary range is gonna be from the jump.

Why companies so damn hush hush about them salaries?

75k British pounds which is only 92k dollars now. Average salary in London is roughly 40k. Objectively i'm doing pretty good for being 29. Earn more than most people my age I guess.

I also have a Masters from a top 5 university in the country (and the degree relates to my industry management of IT) which has helped in recent years.

I'm in online business and I used to make about 250k but I'm having a terrible year this year and will probably make about 90-100k this year, which sucks when looked at in perspective. I recognized that things would be bad really early(my biggest client was acting up) so by March I had already cut down on my costs big time. I live in an African country, so I'm still out here living like a king despite the cuts. Should be back on track by the end of the year though
