How much do you lie on your resume?

I lie about job titles, based on what job I'm applying for. I enhance my technical knowledge and then just read up on the technology or review the installation guide so I can make sure I sound knowledgeable.

For low-level shyt HR doesn't usually go through the trouble of verification.

Just make sure your references pick up

My wife does HR and she says they have a system that can verify whether or not you worked at a place. Also they have access to see if you lied about your salary by pulling your tax info.

Yeah it's probably got something to do with when they pull your credit...cause jobs ask for that now.

They can also check your background and previous employment but the employment part isn't 100% accurate with the dates and doesn't show your position with the company. It itself has some gaps

Edit: if they have some tax irs software, it's bad it's pretty accurate. They definitely see where you worked...but still, don't know your actual position

Man I have the blackest name ever, of course I am lying . These people want to much for a basic job.
Nothing to big though, maybe a 1-2 month increase in experience or putting down basic skills that I can learn pretty fast.

I would not lie saying I have a degree or certs when I don't have one though lol, that is too much.

Since I'm in college I actually put down the degree I am shooting for and put "-In Progress" next to it

I know how to design and such I need to learn how to make money off it. They never told us in highschool and web design classes that we could turn it into a career.

I'm in IT support.

During the interviews, I change the percentage of Windows and Mac devices at my last job depending on what the position I'm interviewing for calls for.

I also inflate the number of users that I support.
