who is "THEY" .... :why:

like really mane...who is this "THEY" yall speak of?? :mindblown:

you do realize all these pro black ARTISTS yall speak of were signed by the same MAJOR LABELS putting out the gangster , drill and trap rap yall so much despise

these Jews and Crakkkers whom have run these major labels for years WERE NEVER THREATNED BY PRO BLACK CONCIOUS MUSIC...

as long as it did numbers THEY WERE SELLING IT.............. :manny:

PUBLIC ENEMY was signed to DEF JAM RECORDS

Brand Nubian was signed to Electra records which was part of the WARNER MUSIC GROP (warner..elektra..atlantic WEA)

X Clan was signed to MCA records...

PRT was signed to Profile Records which was like the "Koch Records" of the 80s..an independent label with strong retail ties with mom and pop stores and indy distributor networks

even BDP with Krs One was signed to Jive/RCA the home of R. Kelly and the Backstreet Boyz and Nsync

RECORD COMPANIES are about the bottom line period...just like when they signed Lauyrn Hill to put out one of the greatest black conscious records of all time MISEDUCATION OF LAURYN HILL on SONY/COLUMBIA records

even PARIS the militant rapper from the bay area when he caught flack for his "DEVIL MADE HIM DO IT" video which was banned from MTV and eventually got dropped by TOMMY BOY/WARNER

he turned right around and found another "home" with Priority Records which at the time was being distirbuted by SONY

When his second album, Sleeping with the Enemy, was ready for release in 1992, Paris was dropped from now-defunct Tommy Boy Records (since rechristened Tommy Boy Entertainment in 2002) and distributor Warner Bros. Records, owned by Time Warner, when the parent company discovered its incendiary content, which included fantasy revenge killings of then-President Bush and racist police officers.
Paris signed a major artist and distribution deal with Priority Records for himself and Scarface Records in 1993

Once again who is "THEY" cause all i see is OUR PEOPLE not giving a fukk about :flabbynsick: rappers like P.E..BRAND NUBIAN and ATCQ

just today thier is a thread doing numbers basically dissing THE NATIVE TONGUES saying they "fake"..they "talk slick" and "ain't about that life" when they were beefing with rappers like Treach.....and Wrecks and Effect

https://www.thecoli.com/threads/native-tongues-stayed-catching-the-beats.753236/page-4#post-36136079

see IT'S US...OUR BLACK AZZES NEVER GAVE A DAMN ABOUT THE CONSCIOUS MOVEMENT LIKE THAT

mainly cause the HOES wasn't fukking with it

i remember the deejay i worked for at the station i interned at in 1990 promoting two shows scheduled to take place in our city ....

it was 2 LIVE CREW and RAKIM appearing in the same city yet at two different venues

GUESS WHICH CONCERT HAD THE MOST BUZZ AND THE MOST WOMEN... :sas1:

u guessed it....

while the Rakim show was full of more white kids than black kids ..... :sas2:

we gotta hold ourselves accountable.....PRO BLACK MUSIC DIED...CAUSE WE DIDN'T APPRECIATE IT .....

ONCE THE WEST COAST GANGSTA RAP CAME IN along with NYC COKE RAP....

nobody wanted to hear THE COUP from the bay area with thier militant nationalist raps

or the BLACKWATCH MOVEMENT (XCLAN) from NYC with thier afrocentric themes anymore

so the labels FED WHAT THE MASSES OF BLACK FOLKS wanted in comercial music...SEX ...VIOLENCE AND DRUGS :yeshrug:

:manny:

No matter how small the audience is, as proud black men, you can't let history get erased by CACs and thots. You basically saying that it is cool to sell out beliefs just for a bit more $$$ and to get your dikk wet.

nikka no the fukk it ain't, trap existed before TI gave it a fukking name. Ghetto Mafia was trap music before it was even called trap music and TIP and Jeezy took the shyt into mainstream. It is not a goddamn sound, it refers to the subject matter. Learn yo history, bruh.
Just because TI titled his album trap Musik doesn’t mean that it was content. What’s the content? TI was rapping about selling drugs and being fly just like Jay, Nas and Wu tang

The trap music that coined the phrase was the sound Shawty Red, Zaytoven and Lex Luther created in 2008. Jeezy, Gucci and Waka blew the sound up

as far as content, they were rapping about the same shyt Biggie was rapping about. Being a dope boy and being on some fly shyt

trap musik is a sound. TI was rapping over Kanyevand Jazzy Pha beats. That ain’t a Trap
All of the hip-hop A-listers are over 40.

:dahell:
Drake
Kendrick
Cole
Travis

those are the A listers right now

At least back when Gangsta Rsp was the popular form of Hiphop, there were still other Genres if Rap. Now everyone wasn't trying to sound the same. Now you have everyone and their Mama gfoing trap music. You have Rappers, R&,b singers and even Pop star's doing music with trap like beats. No one is being creative, people are just doing what they think will sell records or should I say streams.

Yeah, now, its like TRAP BEATS is now a TRAP because it kills every incentive to experiment in new sounds outside of those snares and hi hats

brother..you obviously didn't comprehend what im saying...

i said WE GOT TO HOLD OURSELVES ACCOUNTABLE...

it starts at home...i valued conscious rap and substance...cause I HAD A FATHER who had me reading pro black books and i was around uncles and cats who were involved in movements ... (noi..mst)

YOU WANT YOUR KIDS TO HAVE MORALS AND VALUES THEN YOU HAVE TO START AT HOME

and STOP DEPENDING ON RAPPERS to that for you....that's not thier job

stop with theis CONSIPIRACY SHYT that some secret socieity SHUT PRO BLACK and CONSCIOS RAP down

I NEVER SAID LET'S SELL OUT our MORALS for dollars

hell I WAS THE ONE ON THE RADIO trying to promote BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS......

when i was playing KRS ONE records on our mix show..........

but since our listeners was experiencing a growing female base ...we had to replace krs one and x clan with acts like Disco Rick and the Poison Clan talkign about BIG BOOTY HOES....and CRACK

i don't make the rules :whoa:

remember it was ICE CUBE whom said..."SELF DESTRUCTION DON'T PAY THE FUKKING RENT"

you see.....the conflict with conscious rap was within our own community

I agree with your general point, its the fact that dudes are scared to bring this directly to the HOES and the DRUG DEALERS that have the imperialistic mindset of snuffing out the conacious voice in the community.

you can't sit there and worry about the HOES and DRUG DEALERS that already are LOST

but what you can do is DO ALL YOU CAN TO TRY TO PREVENT YOUR DAUGHTER and SON from becoming the next HOE and DRUG DEALER

The funniest thing about trap dominance is that the three biggest rappers in the game arent trap rappers:

Drake, Kendrick, Cole

yet they all ride that trap wave :manny:

it's a major reason why all three have still been able to maintain relevance

all three have COSIGNED the trap movement with thier constant collaborations with these artists...

most of Drake "stimulus packages" have gone to these trap artists lol... i.e (migos...lil baby..jb blocboy)

yeah from time to time they will collaborate or drop trap records but still drop traditional albums. It shows versatility they can ride trap beats effortlessly but Trap rappers cant make a decent non trap record to save their lives.

But people act like The Booth heads: claiming that those 3 don't have "the streets" and dont have hoes and hardhead dudes blasting their songs in ratchet clubs and strip clubs

you have no clue what you are talking about...

because all you do is go by what you hear on the radio..

thier are a plethora of trap artists on the independent scene who make great diverse music

hell even some of the mainstream cats like 2 chainz can ride any type of beat....u need get out the house and open up your ears

i know some trap rappers that can flow effortlessly over soulful samples and live instrumetation

as ive said before Trap Rapper EL DORADO RED put out one of the best records i ever heard in terms of production ...
