How much longer will the Southern accent be around?

I notice that white people under 30 or so seem to not have Southern accents anymore throughout the urban/Suburban South. I meet people from all over the Southern US and I rarely hear discernible Southern accents from white people.
While black people may be keeping it alive more than white people, I do think it is slowly declining among black people too. I've met Atlanta natives and people from elsewhere in the South with surprisingly neutral accents.
I think the media (TV, internet, music) have watered down regional accents in the US, and it's particularly noticible among the younger generation.

You're not as likely to have it in the city.

I work with a breh from Texarkana that's country as shyt. I'm from the country originally and every now and again someone will ask where I'm from.

As for these "Atlanta natives"... ask em what high school they went to :comeon: Pretty sure you're talking about a bunch of transplants

I wish it would die off but it's probably not going anywhere anytime soon :unimpressed:
