Hell if i know. I gotta go to a professional to straighten my taxes out. Lump sum grant money got me fukked up....but I'm a charge off a lot of tax liability through school expenses. (Had NO clue grants and scholarships were taxed....da hell?! I got it FROM THE government and ya'll want it back too?!)
Hopefully Trump hasn't fukked up any educational credits. I also started an LLC this year for my dad's business that we haven't finished with yet so i count it as a loss and get some money back.

I had a situation like this actually. I went to this janky tax spot my homeboy put me onto. The lady was like you get a $1000 back but if you know someone under 22 that you can claim you'll get 5k. So I found someone and the irs sent me a letter saying they needed some more paperwork. The lady was like we can fight it for you and I was like nah just let me get my 1000 and I'm good. If they already gave you the refund then yeah you gotta pay it back. The dude that put me on to the tax spot did the instant refund shyt through the bank that they use, and he ended up having to pay it back.
