How much was rent at your first spot?

800 a month for a townhouse in San Diego. 2 bedrooms with a garage and an enclosed back patio. That was about 2006-7.
$325 in Ruston, LA near Louisiana Tech's campus back in 2009. I was already working in my profession and had graduated from college.
My mom and dad had a house built and I lived there with them through college until I was well in my 20s.
I eventually needed some place to lay up with my girlfriend at the time and obviously that shyt wasn't going fly at mom and dad's house, so I found something of my own. It was cheap and fit my basic needs.
It was a one bedroom one bath about a step up from a studio apartment and also about a step above a shyt hole.
All I needed was somewhere to sleep, a place to bring p*ssy to, and occasionally to chill at and watch movies, drink, and play video games.

605 for a two bedroom in Buffalo back in 2006 same joints going for 950 now.
In 2001, my 1st apartment was $325 a month. I stayed there 3 yrs. Never seen a roach, mouse, or heard gunshots.

It's not really a good indicator of the housing market
$750 for a 1 bedroom in Sacramento, 2005. It was a older apartment but the inside was newly remodeled.

I was in college at the time, but even with my Best Buy checks, I still couldn’t afford all of that. Pops paid $400 on it every month. I was blessed, honestly.
First place that I had to pay for on my own fully, was a pad in Dalton, GA for $875. Just graduated, was working, and trying to find the cheapest spot I could. Found something cheaper, but my mama wasn’t gone let me stay there lol. Place I was staying was in the mountains, and I used to have to deal with these big ass centipedes in the house. Seen all types of wildlife. Had a bear walk right up next to me while I was in my camaro ordering a pizza lol
