i aint counting the moving gig I had at 16 when i was getting paid under the table. My first real check was senior year, I was one of those damn dancers for a Tax service company...I was outside dressed up as Uncle Sam or Lady Liberty 
.....part time after school, my first check was like 170 something I think......
EDIT: actually that was my second legit gig...my first real job was at Sonics summer after junior year....I think I made 300 something...I was working like everyday, 8 hours

Far from it. Since it was a summer gig, that $ had to hold a nikka for the entire school year (i.e. clothes, lunch, etc.). My parents and I didn't have it like that so I had to manage.Was where I learned money management.

first check was when i was 16 and worked a summer job at a legit company doing a little bit of everything (clerical, mail room, working with engineers, etc, basically interning but for a wage. ) i actually was working 40 hours a week. unheard of for most kids. every 2 weeks $400.00 more like $350. no real taxes taken out since i wasnt working long enough to make over the amt you need where you have to file your taxes and claim 0. i claimed 0 + exempt. brought home $700 a month. worked 2 months straight before it was time for school again.
I still remember the look on moms face when she said "ay its time to go shopping for your school clothes." i pulled my wallet out and said...dont worry about it. i got this." life was good
