if you are really looking for a solution you have to respect the power of convenience and distribution
and I don't have a specific problem with negative music, the world has negative in it, I have a problem with one type of music and stereotype being "pushed" about, or perpetrated as the sole normative/narrative of, one people. We are diverse, let our published music reflect it.

i think you are missing the point, nothing you have posted is an example of the general direction of rap music, most of it s 5 years old, when i make comments about rap music, im making a general comment, im not saying every single rap artist

im cracking up at you and this other poster acting like yall got some secret information about rap music, i was just adding strange fruit project and john robinson (from science of life) to my playlists just the other day, you want to hear an excellent rap song look at my sig, you dont know more about rap music than i do, just stop it

but im not living in a shell like you are, none of the artists you are posting represent the general direction of rap music and artists like strange fruit project or lecrae are not a rebuttal to criticism of the general direction of rap music, which is what the article and me are referring to

Change your radio station/TV channel or just stop paying attention to them altogether. You can get any kind of music you want from the 'Net.

Your 'concern' is invalid. Hip-hop is just fine.

yeah and this head in the sand mentality you are displaying is part of the reason for the artistic decline of rap, the people that should know better dont say anything (im including myself in that criticism)

That seems to be YOUR issue, not mine. I don't hear a bunch of songs about 'hoes, drugs, money, etc.' because those genres aren't appealing to me and I have found hip-hop that I like listening to from a variety of different sources.
