Say what you want...but we still don't want him back :russ:

No one denies that McNabb had some great years here....but those days are OVER. Close the book on it. We've moved on.

It should tell you something that he can't even get a job as a backup these days. Even Mike Shannhan has to call him out on it.

Great post. I remember these fools on :hamster: in McNabb's last season... ungrateful fakkits. Now look at what yall have

McNabb never got the respect he deserved. Hope the Eagles miss the playoffs for the next decade.

Furthermore, I don't understand how anyone can compare the NFC East that Mcnabb competed in veruses the one Vick and Kolb competed in.

During McNabb's best years 99-2006, the Giants, Redskins and Cowboys were atrocious. And that's not to minimize what he has accomplished, but it is what it is. He was in a pretty cushy situation for that era.

Don't do that. Don't just sweep 2 pick-sixes vs Tampa and 3 INTs in the Super Bowl under the rug.

:beli:
Many big time qb's have bad games in playoff games. Outside of that, he was legit in the postseason. A good number of people are so quick to shyt on a brother. :upsetfarve:

The biggest reason they were atrocious was cause Donovan was ripping them to shreds year in and year out. Donovan OWNED the NFC East during his era. He has huge winning records against all 3 teams and beat The Giants in the Playoffs when they were defending Super Bowl Champs. Saying "Oh he won when the Division was weak". Look at the division now. We sending 9-7 teams to the playoffs. During Donovan's time, you had to be winning 11-12 Wins to win the NFC East. With Andy leaving, I hope Donovan Era will finally be put in it's proper historical context. Dude had an amazing career.

There's his last game in Philly where he barely completed half his passes against Dallas.

There's the NFCCG vs. Carolina where he threw 3 picks and the Eagles lost 13-3.

I'm not saying he sucked. But let's not act like he was the God QB. He didn't perform well in big games; this is fact.

THe same way you talk about his failures what about his success? Yea he lost some big games. He had 7 Playoff losses. But he also has 9 Playoff wins. Donovan was 1 and done only 1 time in his career, his last year with the eagles. When ever Donovan played the Eagles were making it to the 2nd and 3rd round of the playoffs year in a year out. He lost the Superbowl, but it was by 3 points to a Dynasty.

The 4 NFC title Game losses weren't all his fault. Sure a few of them were but he played well against Arizona and Rams and the Eagles could very well gone to the Super Bowl those years. The fact of the matter is this. When Donovan was our QB, the EAGLES were in SUPER BOWL contention. Now all we got is talk about "This is a Dynasty, we going to get to the playoffs". The Eagles had media hype now. When Donovan played, Peyton and Brady had all the media hype but Donovan on the NFC side was tearing everyone up.

You're aware that the "greats" have had BAD playoff games, right? I give him more of a pass cuz he has not had any receivers. Name me a good receiver he had not named TO.

I never understood why philly fans hated him so much.

I liked him, but I could see why people didn't like him. He always came off as phony, and he was always making bytchmade comments like this.

You guys are right, McNabb didn't have weapons outside of TO, Westbrook, or Chad Lewis. But let's not act like he was solely responsible for the Eagles' success. That's what McNabb's trying to say and he's flatout wrong. And not only is he wrong, but it's disrespectful to guys like Jim Johnson, Westbrook, Dawkins, Trotter, Chad Lewis, Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, or the many linemen that were key to the Eagles' success. The Eagles aren't going to NFC Title Games simply because McNabb's gone. It's because Reid couldn't replace the talent or coaches that got him so much success in the first half of the decade.
