Another one of these threads.... :scust:

He was not underrated I dont think you dudes in here know what the word means. While he was playin there was a growing narrative that Sheed had the most talent out of any PF playin the league at that time. Sean Elliott actually started it during the 99 playoffs when he hit the shot to beat that loaded Portland team sayin Rasheed Wallace scared him the most out of anybody on that team and he was the most talented PF in the league..

The media started pickin up on that and started sayin the shyt left and right..

Sheed didn't want it tho..
He didn't want the responsibility of bein the man on a team and constantly shied away from that and shrunk all the time when you needed him the most..

KEMP AVERAGED 18PTS 10RBS & 2BLKS
OVER A 9 SEASON STRETCH,
WHILE MAKING 6 ALL STAR GAMES,
3 ALL NBA TEAMS
AND AN NBA FINALS.

HE DOESNT BELONG IN THAT CATEGORY.

looks like HOF numbers

Why isnt Kemp in the HOF? Because over the next 4 seasons, he was basura and faded into boliva.

Kemp was also 29 when the fall off happened.

Tim Duncan, Malone, Webber, Dirk, Sheed, and Even Barkley played and put up great numbers at age of 33 while Kemp was out the NBA at that point.

I wouldn't say work ethic was Rasheed's problem. You can't get the skillset that he got without working your ass off in the offseason. I think he was simply too unselfish and lacked consistent aggression/focus when in game.

Later on in his career he was consistently overweight and out of shape. A lot of his abilities were god-given gifts but your criticism is part of his problem as well

I wouldnt necessarily call him underrated

Like when?
The 05 finals against the Spurs I thought he played like garbage.. He would just take these long ass bail out 3s instead of goin in the post in goin to work with his uncanny fundamentally sound skills..Sheed kept the ball high and his turnaround jumper was :ohlawd:

He cost them that series.

Sheed did not wanna be the #1 option. That was CLEAR.

Game 7, 2000 WCF

4th quarter.

This was after he brought Portland back in that series and was putting in a HOF-like shift.

I knew somebody was gonna bring this up... Don't think that was Sheed fault.... Dunleavy stopped feeding him the ball in the post... I'd be shocked if Portland shot 25% from the floor that whole quarter.... plus when the Lakers got momentum, Shaq was getting away with mugging cats in the paint....... That whole squad failed.....

Dude was actually overrated. People rate him on his talent and personality more so than his actual production. Dude could've been on par with Duncan or KG but he just flat out didn't want to be. Be 7 foot with a beastly post game and shoot more 3s that FTs every year brehs.

Prime Sheed is more disappointing than underrated. Dude coulda easily been the best big ever. :smh:
my lord this forum just loves to talk strictly in hyperbole. lol y'all can have a sports discussion without taking a stance literally at one extreme or the other!
