How would you handle 150k a year in Atlanta?

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
@BlackMoney why are you surprised that people are struggling in Atlanta?

Atlanta is not even a wealthy city.

Not surprised tho. You got delusional people here in New York who swear every ATL black person owns a business and lives in a mini McMansion.

You will always have privacy as long as your door is locked.

What privacy am I lacking by living in a condo in the city?

This blasian I used to smash in buckhead...stayed in a high rise condo....first off...she was in a parking garage...having your own drive way/garage speaks for itself....people stayed above, below, and next to her....how is that private?

My neighborhood is low key and in the cut...

lol @ all these posts doubting what I'm saying when I'm probably the only person in this thread that makes more than 150K and also happens to live in Atlanta.

Like I said, it greatly depends on your family situation, rather or not you have kids, what you're into, and where you work. Cats in here talking about buying houses on the outskirts, which sounds like a great idea until you factor in your commute to work which is likely to be a bytch if you work in Midtown like me. Want to rent inside the perimeter? You're looking at $1500+ rent for a one bed room. Atlanta is not cheap as it sounds and you'd still be competing with a lot of people with super long bread that will make your 150k look like peanuts out here. As my original post stated, you won't be broke, but you won't be balling outta control like the Big Tymers in their prime. Maybe you would relative to your own current standards, but by Atlanta standards? Nah...
Instead of saying 150k ain’t a lot of money down south....

Say you can live super comfortably just not the ATL scammer/baller life that social media portrays :russell:

Yea but now is someone living over and below me killing my privacy?

Unless someone can look inside your apartment or hear your every move then I’m not bothered.

The only thing that might be annoying is that you have to share common spaces and pools with others.

Suburban life is made for people who want to stay indoors all day if you ask me.

Also I notice that suburban people have an arrogant way of looking at things when they leave their isolated communities.

What you mean? This depends on so many factors including how many dependencies you have, where you work, your likes and dislikes.

150k really ain’t all that much in Atlanta. You won’t be rolling around in a ferrari with 2 girls blowing you because of it.
This allllmost worked :francis:

Live in East Pointe, have a 10-15 year mortgage, drive a Camry/Civic, go out once a week with friends, get deeply involved in the arts/culture scene.
All depends on if I have kids and am married.

Either way $150k is plenty to live on with comfort in Atlanta, don't let these Coli nikkas fool you :hubie:

I've found that the equivalent of $60k/ year in NYC isn't too bad depending on housing :dame:

Yup I use it whenever I apply to a government job in nyc.

Funny enough this calculator exposes who is good and bad with money.

Nah, its an age thing. After you 30+, a lot of people want peace and quiet. Last thing you want is people hearing you fukk women and knocking on your door because she screamed too loud.....or Even CACs getting intrusive with your business.

Not every part of the city is Noisy!

You live in NYC right? There are many parts of Western Brooklyn and Northern Jersey that have quite dense neighborhoods.

The only true benefit of the suburbs in my opinion is the much better school system.

I live in Midwood and my area is known for being very quite. I still have access to stores, shopping, buses and Trains that are all walking distance.
