It's called saving money, hand drawn animation takes a lot of time and cost a lot
most anime isn't hand drawn like it was in the 80's and 90's so it lacks flare. But movies always had better animation than show
also American animation has never been good, all of the shows you liked back then were done by asian companies
you can't compare disney movies to the japanee studio, in 1997 they was making bullshyt like hercules while Princess Mononoke was in the theaters

Not a fan of these new artstyles new Tom and Jerry looks like a cardboard cut out. As 
as Tom and Jerry was the Old artstyle was dope obviously the actual animation has come a long way and there are no more archaic techniques it's all computer animated with vector graphics.
Simpsons has come a long way though HD simpsons was
. Anime has always looked dope. CGI can be hit and miss. When I say miss it's usually to do with the character models lack of fur or hair and low quality textures a hit would be something like Monsters Inc.
Don't like the Artstyle of Ted's burgers or Rick and Morty prefer things like OG
or Jackie Chan Adventures.
