Considering I have never asked a man how much he makes and I still have no idea how much my BF makes, I don't think it's fair for you to make such an assumption about me. I think as long as you can afford to take care of yourself and are not struggling, you're good with me.

good to hear but he can make enough to take care of hisself but not much more to do for you so essentially it's a 50/50 relantionship, don't know if you'll be content with that. If you wouldn't mind that at first and ask time go by you expect better that's pretty good to hear, most sisters don't think like that these days.

I've never had a problem with 50/50. My main issue has always been with people who don't want to contribute their fair share just because they know the other person makes more money. In my experience though, most men don't like 50/50, they prefer to be the main provider which could become a problem if the woman makes more than him.

So what is this about

Then I wouldn't be with him. I've lived with people who made slightly above minimum wage and I carried them for years while I paid 80% of the bills. They could only afford to help me with some of the rent, not even 50%. It frustrated the hell out of me and I resented them for it. I'm never doing it again.

chick makes two bold statements that directly contradicts eachother and she doesn't see the problem :laff:

I don't see a problem at all and I won't change how I feel. You all are clearly looking for an issue when there really isn't one but that's how y'all get down so in not surprised.

So if a man lives comfortably solo with 30-50k but gets with you and all of your expenses (which are more) and is unable to go 50/50 with you???

What expenses would be more though that he would not afford to still live comfortably? You don't even know how much I make or what type of expenses we would have. That's something you would work out with the person you're with.

It is expensive and I pay too much in rent but if a guy is bringing in close to $2,000 a month(excluding taxes), he would be able to afford half of the expenses with ease. When I say expenses I mean like the rent/utilities, and groceries. Anything else is a luxury.
