read the comment section, most of the BW agree with her sentiments. it's a hypocritical double edged sword that's been called out several times on this forum (especially doing the street harassment movement)
The comment section is not representative of any thing. If it is the coli is representative of what Black men are like, and that means you speak for Black men. Which would then mean BM hate and think the worst of BW. Do we really want to go there?
no, the problem is white men aren't promoting black women like that. so instead of taking your complaints up with the guys who actually control the shyt. y'all bed them, and turn to us and pretend we're the reason black beauty is undervalued.
Nobody cares about white men but y'all. Please get that through your heads. Time and time again studies show BW want nothing but BM while the opposite is true for BM (anything
but Black women in online studies) but you all turn around and pretend its US that seek their validation. We don't care. We just want to not be hated and degraded by our men.
and if you're going to break stereotypes, really break them. "white women do it too" is not addressing shyt. boasting mixed/biracial women as your most attractive doesn't help either.
Once again you are the one bringing up white people and then trying to pass it off on me. Ridiculous. And Black women boast mixed/biracial women as the most attractive? Not Black men?? You are insane lol
like i said, BW are pissed because BM receive more media promotion. something that isn't even tangible. meanwhile, twice as many black women are able to find gainful emploment; but BW wont make any huffingtonpost blogs about that disparity. they're too busy patting themselves on the back, boasting about how successful they are in comparison to black men.
"Twice as many" (not even close to accurate, but ok) BW finding gainful employment isn't surprising because we go to and complete school at
much higher rates than BM. This needs to change. But even with that we are still not getting hired at a rate proportionate to that level of educational attainment. In fact we're the only group whose unemployment rate remains unchanged. Yes, BM's has gone down, ours has stayed just as high, despite the degrees.
Also, media promotion/visibility is
incredibly important. To say it isn't is to have no grasp on white supremacy tactics at all. When you are invisible people are indifferent to the horrors you go through, so not only do you not get help when you are wronged, you will have a hard time getting anyone to even acknowledge you were wronged in the first place. You become the whipping pole, the mule, who doesn't even have a legitimate gripe to being the whipping pole/the mule because that just becomes 'your place'.
I don't known if Black women have elected her as their spokesperson
We didn't. And you will note that she mentioned pop culture, which is obviously what she's mostly referring to.
